Regret after closing Credit Card - Share your experience

We all post how to get credit cards here . But sometimes we close existing credit cards and then regret later thinking it was a big mistake.

Let's share our experiences so we can learn from them.

My regret - Closing One Card as it was FD based. After using for an year closed it but then one card never gave me a card . Really regret as I will miss one card offers and probably never get it again. 🙁

Are you getting Rupay Virtual credit in this cc? Someone on this forum was unable to apply for Rupay Virtual card as he has co-branded yes Bank card.

Actually, after I posted this, I went to the Yes bank rupay card thread and realised they won't give the rupay cc to me. So I won't be applying as the rewards are not great either.

I am seeing quite a few people want to close the SBI CB card. If it is for any genuine reason that's okay, but if it is out of frustration because of the latest fiasco then it is not a right choice, I believe..
CB card still has some life in it, we can still squeeze a considerable juice out of it.
At the moment it is the best CB card out there.

If your CL on this card is very low, we can always try to find a way out, later once the storm is done
Don't ever take a choice on emotional basis, more often than not it will end up on the wrong side..

SBICARDS refused to flip my existing Paytm-Visa card (with nearly 4L limit) to PAYTM-RUPAY Card.

I am told it is not possible. Decided to Close that card as I already have other Visa cards n am looking for a RuPay card. Not using that card Not withstanding the 4L limit. Got a PNB RuPay Platinum card with less than a lakh limit. I am very happy with PNB Rupay Card - used 40 times in the last 3 months. NO REGRETS IN GETTING RID OF NO-USE CARD.

Because of dis-use, Closed my RBL Platinum Visa card - after using it extensively for 3+ years. AGAIN NO REGRETS AT ALL.

Closed my Citi card also - after it is taken over by Axis. As I already have Axis Airtel card. AGAIN, NO REGRETS.

In a couple of days, I am upgrading my account to Imperia from preferred and let's see if this makes any difference in what they got to offer me.. all my transactions are routed thru this account for the past 3 months
I hold an Imperia account from more than 5 years and nothing has changed for me except for increase in ULIP and Term Insurance mis-sell of policies by RM and bank employees.
