Reward points are not credited for Rent txn - DCB

I am aware that 2k capping exists for rent transactions for DCB card. But, I was bit surprised that there is no reward points credited for CRED RENT txns on my DCB , as per the the last statement


Anyone has any any idea why the reward points are not credited for this rent transaction

For me, this has been case since few months. I paid via Cred once, statement showed its point with transaction only.
But payzapp-redgiraffe is coming under insurance only ( ~4months now)

I received points for my rent transactions (payzapp-redgiraffe) but it came under insurance category in statement.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

It wont matter if your (rent + insurance) <60k as limit for insurance rewards is 2k.
It will if it crosses this figure.

One update. I paid rent again but didn't get the points based in My Cards app.
My observation is that when a transaction moves unsettled to unbilled in my cards app, basic reward points are credited in your account. But I paid rent 2 days back but no reward points credited in account.
Has anyone else faced this?

No points credited yet. Its been 2 days.
But as @Pavan said, I should expect them in next month cycle?
My bill generation is after a week. Picture will be clear by then 😅 as my last month rent points are also pending.

No I keep track. Like my current point is 100 and I spend Rs. 300 online.
After that when transaction is moved from unsettled to unbilled, my points increased by 10.
If the spend has accelerated reward points, basic points are added first and the accelerated points are added after 3-4 days.
This generally happens for all my normal spends. Didn't happened for rent. So there must be some exceptions.

1. Reversal of Wallet Rewards
2. DB 2XRP_Weekend Dining
3. SmartBuy_Aug22 0000
And then the other section is of all the transactions I made along with their RPs. But again this month rent statement points are also missing.

My points were credited at the end of the statement. Clubbed with SmartBuy 5x points

I tried messaging customer care(customerservices.cards@hdfcbank.com) 2-3 times, no reply at all. Feels weird tbh 😅
May be I will mail grievance redressal email and see what happens.

According to discussions on this forum, rent RPs are credited on the first day of next month. So check on Oct 1 if there is sudden increase in your balance or wait for next statement.

You are right, Previous rent payment through PayTM got reward points on Oct 1st and seeing it in the statement too. 👍

Even nobroker packer and mover payments went in rent category and was awarded points in next month.

In Magicbriks , it allows 2 payment with 0 fees , I have done only 1of 10k and when doing another of 10k it says "Zero processing fees limit of 2 transactions per month has been reached. Processing fees will hence be charged"
