SBI Cashback card - Unusual question in verification call

Hello, I have applied cashback card 3 times and every time sbi declines coz of infamous "internal policy" so I got my brother to apply.

My brother is quite dumb, but a businessman who usually remains very very busy. He even got infinia upgrade but denied coz of fee lol. So you understand how he is.

Now I made him apply for cashback card which I will use and pay fees for and he did. SBI didn't decline him right away like they did with me. They asked him kyc via digilocker and then aggregator login for salary credit and then vkyc, e-sign everything he did. Now finally he receives a verification call, this is where confusion happens. The customer care guy asked him mothers name, current address, business or job and then business name and address, phone number is his only, and if he uses sbi card already which he does with very low limit of 40k (Sbi prime Less limit coz he doesn't use sbi card at all may be once a month or twice a year)

Then all of a sudden the guy asked my brother do you know anyone with the name Ajay Sehgal. My brother got confused and said I don't know. The guy said you don't know Ajay Sehgal, he said no. Then the guy said thankyou for your time and call ended.

10 days later the card got declined. No reason provided. Anybody gone through this strange thing? I have 20 cc's with me and I have talked to many bank cc's in verification call and this has never happened with me.

I am usng SBI cc since last 9 years, got SBI Cashback cc when it was launched! But SBI has been rejecting my application for IRCTC cc now each time whenever i am applying and the reason being 'due to internal policy'!

Conclusion context : jo sim number se apply kiye ho uss number pe Ajay sehgal pehele apply Kiya tha jitne sal pehele bhi ho sbi ke pass record hota hai agar same mobile number pe different application received hota hai to sbi puchhega ki kon hai a Ajay sehgal agar kisine bola nahi janta to application rejected kar dega agar bologe Mera cousin hai mai janta hu phir o log batayega ha application kiye the apka cousin ne kyu apka number pe tab bolna hai mera office Mai Kam karta hai mai janta hu galti se kar diya tha trust me mera hi number hai aisa bologe application procceed hoga nahi too bye bye ...
aisa case maine kitne solve Kiya hu iyadd nahi a raha abhi 🤣

koi aur reason hai decline ka, i am sure ajay sehgal toh nahi hoga

i applied sbi cashback in the month of march, got 2 verifications all were simple basic verifications(i have been using sbi cards since 2016, may be that was the reason why i got approval in single application.)

but kuto ne 20k limit dedi thi 😀, sbi prime se 1L transfer karvayi thi fir

Wanna know the Irony:
I used a Made up Company name. And I was going to application before they can verify my company in person. But before that they approved it. With 50k. I was unhappy about the limit. But then I understood that even the "Legendary" users getting just 14-20k limit
