Hello, I have applied cashback card 3 times and every time sbi declines coz of infamous "internal policy" so I got my brother to apply.
My brother is quite dumb, but a businessman who usually remains very very busy. He even got infinia upgrade but denied coz of fee lol. So you understand how he is.
Now I made him apply for cashback card which I will use and pay fees for and he did. SBI didn't decline him right away like they did with me. They asked him kyc via digilocker and then aggregator login for salary credit and then vkyc, e-sign everything he did. Now finally he receives a verification call, this is where confusion happens. The customer care guy asked him mothers name, current address, business or job and then business name and address, phone number is his only, and if he uses sbi card already which he does with very low limit of 40k (Sbi prime Less limit coz he doesn't use sbi card at all may be once a month or twice a year)
Then all of a sudden the guy asked my brother do you know anyone with the name Ajay Sehgal. My brother got confused and said I don't know. The guy said you don't know Ajay Sehgal, he said no. Then the guy said thankyou for your time and call ended.
10 days later the card got declined. No reason provided. Anybody gone through this strange thing? I have 20 cc's with me and I have talked to many bank cc's in verification call and this has never happened with me.
