SBI Cashback credit card official benefits revised w.e.f. 1st May 2023

REVISION OF BENEFITS ON CASHBACK SBI CARD:

With effect from 01 May 2023, following changes will be applicable on your CASHBACK SBI Card:

A. Below categories will not be eligible for Cashback benefit, apart from existing exclusions:

Jewelry	5051, 5094, 5944, 7631
School & Educational Services	5111, 5192, 5942, 5943, 8211, 8220, 8241, 8244, 8249, 8299, 8351
Utilities	4814, 4900, 9399, 4816, 4899
Insurance Services	5960, 6300, 6381
Card, Gift, Novelty & Souvenir Shops	5947
Member Financial Institution/Quasi Cash	6011, 6012, 6051
Railways	4011, 4112

The Merchant Category Codes are defined by the Networks and are subjected to change basis their discretion and such changes shall be implemented basis communication from the Networks without any requirement for intimation/information to the customers.

B. Maximum Cashback that can be earned on online & offline spends in a statement cycle will be capped at `5000.

C. Complimentary Domestic Airport Lounge benefit will be discontinued.

Normally car dealers will charge service charges for swiping credit card around 1.5% to 2.5%

There is another option for you i.e. AXIS Ace.. which gives 2% unlimited for offline transactions..

I think car dealerships will not have an excluded mcc. Is Axis ace a LTF? AU LIT can also get 2% on offline?

I think legend is also a good option especially if you can swipe on Saturady/ Sunday which gives you 2 RP and also 4K RP on 6L spends for the year..
easy to get card as well ..

You can get 2%, but you need to activate the 2% feature, and I believe the cashback is capped at ₹1000.

Yes if 10x reward points on offline transactions is turned on, validity 3 months, price 299+gst, capping of 25k RP per month. Reward points can be used to buy vouchers or book flights / hotels which give around 2% return

I literally recovered my annual fee in one month. I hope you know a lot of people are not even getting approved to get the card. Don't blackmail them. Use it for a year for everything and try it in a year, if you have high spends on the card, maybe they'll make it LTF for you.

Its almost 10 months and I could just recover the fees. I saw many people getting it converted to LTF so that's why I tried. I hope you know that there was a whole thread on this community for discussing about converting sbi cards to LTF so rather than trolling me I would expect some genuine inputs

Stop being a cry baby, I didn't troll you. My reply was genuine. SBI only converts it to a lifetime card when you have high spends. Go ahead and close the card, with limited spends, even their retention team won't try to retain you.

I've spent close to 7L on sbi cashback card this year and got the fee waiver, but on my other sbi ola card have spent around 80-90k so they'll charge fee , so should I try to get that ola sbi converted to ltf

I am not getting Cashback on Uber rides. Can anyone else confirm the same? I also did not get cashback on Zomato for some reason. Has the card stopped giving cashback for Uber and Zomato?

I am not being a crybaby. Stop showcasing this card as something very great. This is the first card which holds an annual fee and still no lounge access. They advertised this as with a card with lounge access and silently withdrew it. They also downgraded the card and we have every right to try making it a LTF. To rest of the members I would like to say this card is nothing but a crap and only good as a LTF card, otherwise you have hdfc milllenia which offers similar benefits. and FYI I have paid my dues and asked them to stop the card, now they want to talk to me before closing the account 😛
