Second Airtel Axis Bank Credit Card

I hold an Airtel Axis CC (Visa) since Nov 2022. Yesterday, while checking pre-approved card offers on Axis Mobile app, I saw the option to apply for Airtel Axis Mastercard Credit Card. I was baffled upon seeing it and thought that it could be a glitch as I already hold Airtel Axis CC.

I decided to chat with Axis Support to understand the possibility of holding the same card twice. They were clueless about it.

So, I went ahead with the application, with the thought that at most my old card will be closed or my application will not go through. But, to my surprise, I was able to submit the application and immediately received approval. Right now, I can see TWO Airtel Axis CC in Axis Mobile (Open) app.

I am curious to know if anyone else has been able to hold the same card twice from the same account/mobile number.

FYI, this will be my third Axis CC. I had two prior to applying this one -
1. Airtel Axis CC (Visa)
2. Axis Ace CC

Yesterday while tracking the application i could see that "eligibility check initiated" with application number starting with MLP. Now I got a message that
"We regret to inform you that we are unable to process your Credit Card application as it does not meet the Bank's credit norms - Axis Bank"

Application rejected for sure??

customer care have limit access and can not edit application ask them status so they will tell you only application related info, they will have no idea of SMS.

record the call just in case it might be helpful if have to escalate in future

If you got rejection sms, means most likely your application was rejected..status will change later

When I contacted customer care,they were saying that it's still under eligibility check. Can the rejection message come like this by only wordings without mentioning any number?

It is really hard to predict these kind of things. Let's wait atleast until tomorrow.

Via website. Even I have Flipkart and Airtel master card already. It's for Airtel rupay

I can understand you need it. But mostly axis employees will not approve it. So apply the card for your family member and get it

Earlier it was showing as 20th jan. Now showing as 30th Jan. A*s k*s*s is unpredictable
