Second Airtel Axis Bank Credit Card

I hold an Airtel Axis CC (Visa) since Nov 2022. Yesterday, while checking pre-approved card offers on Axis Mobile app, I saw the option to apply for Airtel Axis Mastercard Credit Card. I was baffled upon seeing it and thought that it could be a glitch as I already hold Airtel Axis CC.

I decided to chat with Axis Support to understand the possibility of holding the same card twice. They were clueless about it.

So, I went ahead with the application, with the thought that at most my old card will be closed or my application will not go through. But, to my surprise, I was able to submit the application and immediately received approval. Right now, I can see TWO Airtel Axis CC in Axis Mobile (Open) app.

I am curious to know if anyone else has been able to hold the same card twice from the same account/mobile number.

FYI, this will be my third Axis CC. I had two prior to applying this one -
1. Airtel Axis CC (Visa)
2. Axis Ace CC
 
Bro i mean I just put it as 2 mail (reconsider mail, rejection reason) . So that I can send and escalate to nodal,pno,m.d one by one. Not together. Is it ok??
I think it's better to send two mail seperately

First send an email to the customer service asking for the reason for rejection. Follow the escalation matrix until you get a satisfactory response. And then reply to that response requesting to reconsider your application.

Already sent seperate mail regarding the rejection reason to nodal and reconsider mail to pno. Level 1 is totally useless
 
Agreed. But when we're seeking the reason for rejection, it is better that the responses are delayed or not upto the mark because once 30 days are completed, we can file a complaint with the RBIO and, potentially, get compensated.
Yes u r right. But if i sent the mail to pno nodal and m.d level they will definitely close the lower level complaint by stating that it is handling with higher authority. So what you mean . Shall I raise the complaint to RBI after getting a useless reply from level one??😂
 
Did anyone notice that u get different MLP number while tracking the application status using pan and mob no?? I can see even I have 3 MLP number having different date of application received and eligibility initiated date😂. Any idea?? Using all the 3 MLP number showing my application is still in eligibility check. While checking with C1 number it's rejected 🙄🙄 @SSV @Abhishek012 @RadTheCrab

Update: MLP number changes over time to time . Bank bankend system checks our application, kyc, banking relationship, each and every details time to time. On each check by bank the MLP number changes. So C1 number is only valid for future reference. I got it from axis experienced team.When i check my application status the rejection status is just vanished now. We need to wait 15 days to get a final confirmation on the same.
 
I already sent a mail to nodal as well as level 1 customer care on 31st Jan regarding to provide the EXACT MAIN REASON for credit card rejection. But only level one responded and they highlighted the concern to provide the resolution which will take 5 working days. But nodal not yet responded. What to do shall I send a mail again to nodal or to pno? Or just wait for nodal to respond within 30 days or not? To raise the concern to RBI.

Just send a reminder email before 30 days are completed. If he still doesn't respond, you can file your complaint with RBIO.
 
Update after rejection or approval.

I got the below response related to RE-CONSIDER the application:
We regret to inform you that your referred credit card application C1-0000001234567-C1 has been declined as you are currently holding the same variant card, Airtel Axis Bank Mastercard Credit Card, and you have applied for Airtel Rupay Credit Card. Please be informed that the approval of the credit card application solely depends on the bank's internal policies.

We would also like to inform you that our inability to offer you the credit card does not in any way reflect on your creditworthiness. You can reapply for the credit card application after 12 months from the date of the credit card application being declined.

Further, your credit card application MLP00007654321 has been declined due to internal norms not being met. We request you to submit a new request for the said card.

Please note that the above decision has been taken after careful consideration of your application on its merit in line with Axis Bank's internal policies and operating procedures.

We regret our inability to reconsider the credit card applications. For the MLP00007654321 application, please place a new application.
