Choosing the Best UPI App in 2024​

I'm writing to seek your assistance in choosing the best UPI app for my needs in 2024. With the vast array of options available, making an informed decision can be overwhelming.


I'm primarily looking for an app that excels in the following aspects:

• User Interface: A clean, intuitive, and user-friendly interface that allows for quick and effortless navigation.
• Offers: Attractive cashback, discounts, and rewards on UPI transactions, bill payments, recharges, etc.
• Wallet Features: Robust wallet functionality with features like expense tracking, budget management, and investment options (if available).
• Card Facilities: Seamless integration with credit and debit cards for payments, recharges, and bill payments.
• App Performance: Smooth and lag-free experience with appealing animations (if used tastefully).
• Overall Experience: A positive and enjoyable experience that exceeds expectations across all features mentioned above.

To provide some context, I typically use Payzapp for UPI payments. However, I'm open to exploring new options that offer a better overall experience.
Additionally, if you could share any specific insights or tips on features, functionality, or hidden gems I may have missed, it would be incredibly helpful.

yes currently i changed my device from iphone to s23 my phonepe on previous device has 1900 upi lie balance i forgot to disable it when i re install phonepe on s23 i am not seeing my upilite balancephonepe says first close previous upi lite account banks are also unable to help

Mobikwik Wallet is one option I believe as it is linked to UPI now and can be used for Scan to Pay transactions. Any other options?

I don't know about other apps especially BHIM which had such issues, but it's not same with Paytm, UPI Lite money get synchronised immediately, after clicking on check now on UPI Lite, have read somewhere too and tried and tested by myself also.

Main reasons given in favour of UPI-lite are (1) works even without network and (2) PIN-less payment.
Most people use 2 SIMs these days and some more than 2 (with multiple device). Unless you are traveling at very remote location, the chances of having no network with all your SIM would be very less.
My experience with Slice UPI so far has been very good, particularly with all scan-pay option and it can be set to be PIN less upto certain amt also. And using it also shields the main bank acct/linked SIM from being exposed.

Like it will just save from spamming your bank statement who is fully dependent on upi for 5-10rs payments to. So it will be single debit to upi lite and then it will be debiting from their not from bank account.

mobikwik has a lot of their ZIP shit ads across the entire app, which just makes the app experience worse. slice is much better as of now.
other than that, mobikwik is also a good option

I agree. I use UPI Lite primarily to declutter my account statement and pin-less payment. Haven't tried out Slice yet. Will check it out, thanks!

Exactly. I was trying out MobiKwik wallet UPI and it spams you with ad-banner(s) as soon as you open it. Also, there's no option to create "Scan & Pay" shortcut on home screen like other UPI apps. So, one needs to open the app and go through those ads. Slice seems to be a good alternative, let me try that out! Thanks!

PepperMoney cards n Junio cards are having severe acceptance issues - both online n offline.

both, but mostly online, I don't use prepaid cards offline, because most don't give any rewards on offline transactions.

Ohh, I haven't used it yet, that's why I am unable able to answer right now. However, @varun__goel_ , @S S V & others will reply.

I think, You need to activate online trxn & tap to pay as active.
