So something strange happened.
I am/was a ICICI privilage customer. I am a privilege customer from like last 11 years. This is how it has always been since I am a ICICI customer from the beginning. I was given this account by a ICICI agent when I wasn't even a customer with ICICI, I used to live in a society/area in Gurgaon 10 yrs back where whole society was filled with salaried people working in different MNC's. Agent took I think 40k or was it 15k cheque from me and said i can move money right away once the acc is opened since it is a zero bal account. So it was advertised to me as a "society based account" but in their banking terms it was called privileged banking. Idk what features privileged banking has officially but I have never been charged for debit card or sms or debit card fee or any imps/neft fees ever.
But today they upgraded(or downgrade? as I am not sure if going from privilage to private is upgrade or not) but they upgraded my account to private banking with internet banking going all golden-ish User interface. What's happening?
I don't think I did something myself. I have a savings acc with them from like last 10 yrs, with balance very minimal. I kept may be 3-4L bal + 5L plus in FD in last few months. Now my saving bal is even less than 20k plus fd as before of 5L+ . I have like 6-7 cc's with icici like sapphiro/rubyx both mc/amex variant and corol, apay, and the new card I applied a week back i.e times black card which I plan to not activate anyways.
is times black card the reason they automatically changed my bank acc status? Someone knows anything abt this?
Is my account upgrade even an upgrade? What is the benefit of private banking? I loved my privileged banking acc tbh as i was never hit with any fees. I haven't gotten any email/sms abt this yet aswell.
This is what my INB looks like now, earlier it was reddish/orangish. Now it is golden.
