Looks like people are getting upgraded to Icici Bank 'Private Banking' Savings Account variant; for getting the Times Black Card. 3 people in the below thread seem to have been upgraded...
I can confirm this. Saw it when I logged into netbanking this morning. Account has been changed from Wealth Management to Private Banking.
Private DC as well? Is it of any use?
Has anyone else been charged joining fees on this card recently? I just got charged today. I think the bank has started applying joining charges to everyone one by one.
I also noticed something else: the card is virtually available on the iMobile app and also in the Times Black app, but the CVV is not visible. I even tried making a transaction, but I couldn't proceed due to the absence of the CVV.
Additionally, there’s no update about the physical delivery of this card yet. I haven’t received any message regarding the card being dispatched either.
Does anyone else have any updates about this? And has anyone else been charged joining fees for this card? Please share your thoughts below.

I checked on timesblack app, and I haven't been charged any fees yet on unbilled trxn, neither icici internet banking show any fees for the card.
I have the card/exp/cvv , idk how I got it, probably from app/inbaking. Btw any trxn made means card will get activated and then fees will definitely be charged.

haha, Well what can a customer do here. I'm sure bank has also less options here. If a bank do devaluation, they will lose business and customer will go to a diff bank. There are many banks now in the market, so who cares.
I have many cards i have closed, but for example if SBI was good to me for offers, I wouldn't have given my business to majorly axis bank or hdfc. It's not just customers loss but banks too and looking at the western countries where banks hardly give any interest, I feel our turn will come, but till then we need to use all the offers we can get.

I have no problem with the charges; I really wanted to get this card. In fact, I activated the card the very next day. Considering my needs, this card is worth trying. Plus, I can easily afford the joining fee. By the way, the total joining fee for this card is ₹23,600.
Could someone confirm if they are charging only the joining fee as per their revised T&C and not joining+annual fees?

Logically should get it. Will have to call up phone banking to place a request for it. I don't have much expectation from a debit card beyond lounge access etc.
Yes 20K plus GST got billed yesterday, saw it in the un-billed transactions section in Net-banking. Found it quite strange that charges have been levied on a card that's yet to arrive 🙂.
In mobile banking, in the card section, right under the spot where you see your card details there is a tab for CVV. Sliding that tab scrambles the card details and makes the CVV visible.
Today I got confirmation mail from ICICI that my request for card cancelation is successfully processed. No charges.
I already have Emeralde metal which is more than enough among ICICI Cards, and after reading all features, realized that putting spend on this card is not worth it. I can divide my spends on EPM, DCBM & Atlas for better return.

How to get the card cancelled? I haven't been charged any fees yet. I haven't even gotten the card delivered yet aswell.
Call Customer care & cancel it. Tell them charges are not levied yet, so take request. You will not pay anything.
This is fastest way.
