ICICI Bank Times Black Credit Card Launched - Full Details & Review

Look this is what I was anticipating. @Sobirvs @cardio_guy 24,000 is too much.

Ek Ek karke sabka bari ayega. Its just matter of time. Pher khelte rahoge I dont know, it was not mentioned etc etc etc. Customer---->Bank---->Customer--->RBI----->Bank---->Customer. [game].

Don't take it otherwise. Nothing personal.

Fee can be charged only once card is activated.
Card gets activated once pin is generated.

Today I got confirmation mail from ICICI that my request for card cancelation is successfully processed. No charges.

I already have Emeralde metal which is more than enough among ICICI Cards, and after reading all features, realized that putting spend on this card is not worth it. I can divide my spends on EPM, DCBM & Atlas for better return.
Good call. You already have some of the very good cards...life mai aur kya chahiye

Yes 20K plus GST got billed yesterday, saw it in the un-billed transactions section in Net-banking. Found it quite strange that charges have been levied on a card that's yet to arrive 🙂.

In mobile banking, in the card section, right under the spot where you see your card details there is a tab for CVV. Sliding that tab scrambles the card details and makes the CVV visible.
Yes, I understand that, but there is a specific issue with this card section. I have 9 credit cards, and for all of them, the option to check the CVV is appearing except for this one. Additionally, the original image of this card is not being displayed. However, in net banking, both the CVV and the card image are visible. I think there might be some bugs in the mobile app causing this issue.

If you already have the Emerald Metal version, then this card doesn’t make much sense, as the Emerald Metal is better in most cases. I don’t have the Emerald Metal version, which is why I opted for this card. If I had the Emerald Metal, I wouldn’t have applied for this one at all.

It looks like the trend of canceling the Times Black credit card has officially started today, and this could signal a turning point for both users and the company. While Times Black may have been celebrating the initial wave of interest and the large number of new cardholders, the real test of the card’s success is just beginning.

As the cancellation requests start pouring in, it’s likely to leave a significant impact. Many users might have signed up out of curiosity or due to the initial hype, but the card’s actual value will only become apparent over time. A year down the line, people will truly assess whether the promised benefits are as useful as they seem or if they fall short of expectations.

Moreover, the exclusivity aspect of the card is something to watch closely. If Times Black fails to offer unique or impactful benefits, users will have little reason to retain the card. On the other hand, if the company can deliver on its claims and provide genuine value, they might still retain a loyal customer base.

This situation is a pivotal moment for Times Black. Their response to user feedback and their ability to prove the card’s worth will determine whether this becomes a success story or a cautionary tale. Let’s see how this unfolds in the coming months.

Joining fees is not yet charged for me. You’ve better ICICI EPM in your portfolio.

I called customer care. I got myself private banking world debit card. Told me my current debit card will also work too.

Then I finally got my timesblack cancelled. Service req. has been generated for the cancellation however I am told it will take 4-5 days for it to process. I wasn't charged any fee yet neither have I received the card.

You could have kept the card as souvenir in the collection. Canceling after you receive the card.

The gist here is not to go for this card..

Have 4 to 5 ICICI Cards with shared limit of 36L and getting tempted to go for it, atleast for 1st year.. But holding off for now tightly.

I think if someone gets the card and doesnt activate it (by setting pin), then also the card should get automatic cancelled in 30 days and no fee would be chargeable.
And also if bank calls for activation, can ask for LTF. Someone can share such experience.
