Hey TFCians,

The credit card chargeback system is one of the most important and useful features of a credit card. Whenever you face an issue with a merchant, and the merchant fails to resolve your issue in time, the chargeback system can step in to protect you.

Here’s an example:

On November 11, 2024, Mr. X ordered 10 units of Apple AirPods using an Amex credit card. All items were delivered on November 12, 2024, but Mr. X found that all 10 units were damaged. He immediately contacted Amazon, which arranged a return pickup on November 14, 2024, for a refund.

Mr. X returned all the units on November 14, 2024, and waited until November 30, 2024, for the refund. Despite contacting Amazon multiple times, they failed to issue the refund even by December 17, 2024.

Finally, Mr. X filed a chargeback with Amex, uploading the return slip as proof. And guess what? Amex resolved the dispute in Mr. X's favor within minutes!

This is the power of the credit card chargeback system.

While the chargeback system is incredibly useful, it’s often underutilized. However, not all card issuers are as proactive as Amex. This is why I always say that no credit card issuer in India can match the level of customer service provided by Amex.

Amex is the best when it comes to chargebacks. Indian Banks are very slow and have tedious process with long forms for chargeback which makes it a hassle. Whenever I am unsure of any product or website, I put my purchase on Amex.

Hdfc also gave me a utilisation of 25k amount back till case resolution and after the case resolution the balance is exceeding my credit limit 🤣😂

This works in all banks including Indian Banks. Only diffrence is sprunity method and timeline.

Amex has fast process while other banks ots much much long.
For example.
Amex have max of 90 days period for check
For icici and hdfc its 180 days

Half the people having an AmEx wouldn't have it if it wasn't for their referral system which social media and sites like ours truly have really promoted and benefited from. People crib about Diners acceptance issues but the ones for AmEx are worse. AmEx is basically the Apple of the credit card world - there are better options for many people but the brand and flexing attract people.

P. S. - Been using credit cards for a decade and never once had the need to file a chargeback. If you buy from unknown sellers / lesser known platforms then may be you want the extra protection AmEx offers.

Amex and apple analogy doesn't hold true here. Amex is miles better

1.Holding an amex card doesn't stop you from owning and enjoying all other cc like an apple product does
2. You don't need to knowingly overpay to enjoy amex.. Just get an mrcc or another cheap amex card and use it when you want to enjoy amex

And Mr X is you 😈.

Can you reveal how you ordering & shipping it to india from Amazon US?

Any shipping service (few companies give hub address to deliver) used?

You posted about Mac loot from Amazon US earlier.

My DM is open if you want to tell 😉.

Struggling with Yes Bank & Standard Chartered Bank for a charge back. Even after shared all the relevant documents, nothing positive from them.

Had a similar thought, didn't wanted to mess with the @TechnoFino (Admin/ Founder). The question I had in mind was: Are you going to do a give away that you ordered 10 Apple AirPods.

Disclaimer: Read you as Mr. X not Technofino 😉
