Too many UPI apps which one do you use - why its better

I started using UPI only lately, as tracking was messy with UPI for me . But now in the market there are lot of apps - clueless on which one to use.
I currently use the one provided by my savings back (icici) - yes is provides any name as label for upi id

Then used flipkart UPI linked to my UPI credit card - by default it pickedup my mobile number as label for upi id . But most transactions linked to creditcard fail as merchant is denying credit card based UPIs for me.

I have not used any other app to link my savings bank account for UPI transactions.

Any recommendations for a good UPI app which can offer cashbacks and not bloatware.

Bhim - PhonePe - gpay - super money - yes next and that's enough for upi need
If you need cashback on every payment or use go for super money app. Bhim also provide good cashback but not in every payment

Super money is worst in terms of privacy...Paytm is listed company and is audited minutely so will not play around with your privacy.....They do not collect any data...Super money sucks your entire mobile details by giving chiller as cashback (not a bad deal for the company to create database)

Always stick to leaders....Paytm is primary for me and gpay is backup with dummy gmail id

Don't say these 3rd parties can be trusted blindly .

If paytm do such a strict auditing the why there were kyc issues.
Why did RBI banned them .

Every other party apps takes our data and their is no surity it is safe .

If banks can sell our data , then who are these PPI and third party apps .

They are leaders because they have gained customers and retaining them .
People are now dependent on these apps .

We are discussing privacy...Check the permissions taken by super money and permissions taken by paytm

RBI ban has nothing to do with privacy or upi transactions....It is more to do with KYC process not followed completely to open payment bank savings account.....RBI never mentioned that customer data is not safe with Paytm

Please check super money privacy policy at following link and check what all data they collect and with whom they share

Stick to BHIM. No 3rd apps if privacy concerns.

BHIM (using since its launch) - Occasionally PHONEPE

1. Why BHIM?
---- Simplicity - Intuitive UI - Cashback (only recently) - Default payment action setting for merchants and persons (eases the choice option when you are in a hurry).

2. Why PHONEPE?
--— The feature of adding a nickname to your payment methods eases the tracking and usage, especially when you have multiple cards and accounts.

Any recommendations for a good UPI app
I have been using PhonePe for the last 4-5 years without any problems at all. I have never used any other app. My experience has been excellent.

The app offers almost everything that one user may want to have for routine transactions - money transfers (to bank accounts, UPI IDs, mobile numbers), scan and pay, mobile recharges (have availed this feature many times), bill payments (availed this a few times), rewards and offers (haven't availed many offers), refer and earn (availed this 2-3 times), linking Rupay credit cards, personalised UPI QR and UPI ID, checking bank balances (use this feature regularly), alerts and reminders, history of transactions with filters (use this feature sometimes to track my expenses etc), and now investments + loans + Insurance + etc. I have found the app to be 99.99% secure and instantaneous (2-3 seconds) and have no complaints at all. On a few occasions, even the IPO payments were made through this app (UPI mandate procedure). For UPI payments on other online sites, I have used this app quite often and it has worked flawlessly for me in all these 4-5 years. And I have not been spammed by any SMSes or any spam calls (with any inkling of or through PhonePe).

So, this app meets almost all of my day-to-day requirements, with no hiccups. I am not looking for perfection in any app and so I am absolutely comfortable and happy with my experience of PhonePe.

Based on my excellent experience, I strongly recommend this app to you. You can check out its features, use it for a few weeks and then take your own call.

You can also see this reddit thread here for some more perspectives and insights on PhonePe app.

Hope this helps. 🙂
