With RBI lifting the ban on Kotak Mahindra Bank, the bank is likely to make a strong comeback in the credit card market.

It's the perfect time to explore their credit card offerings. To regain lost market share, Kotak might roll out lucrative LTF deals and higher approval rates. Additionally, the bank could offer exclusive rewards, cashback, and promotional discounts to make their cards more appealing.

This creates an excellent opportunity for potential customers to explore Kotak’s credit card options, especially if they’re looking for fee-free cards with competitive benefits.

Which cards should you consider?

Share your suggestions and reasons—whether it's for rewards, cashback, or exclusive benefits. Let's discuss the best picks and why they’re worth getting now!

RBI Ban Lift

I have asked my RM to do the same… Ill update here if they upgrade my card. Which account type do you have right now? Im privy league black… maybe this affects your application?

Hey @aakashgupta I am in same boat with privy black. I am planning to apply new card. Can you tell me if it's worth the apply to reserve white or just white? What are additional benefits other than unlimited lounges and feel good metal factor ?

I already have infinia so this unlimited lounges, golf won't be very helpful.

I feel white is better in terms of rewards for white pass. Please clarify if I am missing something

My primary intent is to get a card LTF which rewards for govt transactions.(Rare usage though)

Anyone who can help me understand difference ?

Kotak has no really good cards even for HNI customers right now. They need a complete overhaul of their entire credit card lineup.

Kotak Zen gives 0.8% and 1.4% if you spend 6L in a year
Kotak League is close to 1% with half-yearly milestone
Kotak Myntra is 5% on Myntra and higher 7.5%/10%/12.5% in sales depending on magnitude of the sale, EORS mostly highest, 1.25% via UPI but only for >₹2000 txns

So except for Myntra, all cards are PATHETIC. They had good cards - Essentia Platinum (10% on grocery), Delight Platinum (10% on dining), Privy League Signature (53% reward rate) but they're all discontinued for new customers.

Kiwi was going to launch on Kotak: https://www.financialexpress.com/bu...rtner-with-2-more-banks-by-march-end-3276841/ But then the RBI ban happened before things could be finalized. Maybe now Kiwi will launch on Kotak given Yes Bank's retarded 1-card only policy and Axis Kiwi stuck at 1% and no NEON. I, for one, would be glad to move to Kotak Kiwi so that it frees up one slot for a good Axis Bank card because Kotak has no good cards
The Kotak Myntra credit card is one of the best cards offered by Kotak. Instead of just a 5% discount, it provides a default instant discount of 7.5%. During sales, the return isn’t just 10-12%, but can go up to 16.5%. The key is knowing how to use the card effectively.

Moreover, Myntra has significantly expanded its product range, now offering not just fashion but also beauty products and household essentials. Currently, no other credit card in India provides such a high discount on Myntra purchases—that too as an instant discount.

Ever since I got the Kotak Myntra card, I haven’t felt the need to use any other card for shopping on Myntra.

Myntra vouchers are mostly discounted on many platforms.
Like currently if I buy on Park+ it will fetch me 4.5+5=9% via sbi cb cc.
Tata neu: 9%
Or maybe simply buying via hdfc smartbuy is 9%/16% via dcb/infinia.

Additional Coupons can be applied while purchasing on Myntra using gv as well.
So basically even if one has the myntra kotak cc, he might be tempted to use alternate methods for a better discount.

How do you get upto 16.5% during sale?

You’re absolutely right, but… how many people actually have the Infinia card? That’s the biggest question. And does everyone just get it easily? In SBI, how much credit limit do they even offer to customers? ₹10,000–₹15,000?

I have the SBI Cashback card, which is lifetime free, but my limit is only ₹10,000. Even if I want to, I can’t really use it anywhere. Just having a card isn’t enough; it should have a good limit to be truly useful.

On the other hand, the Kotak Myntra card is easier to get and also offers a decent credit limit. Most importantly, if you shop frequently, buying and redeeming gift cards repeatedly becomes a hassle. With this card, you get an instant discount directly, which I find the most convenient.

How do you get upto 16.5% during sale?
There's a 15% instant discount plus a 1.25% base cashback, totaling 16.25% savings. However, that extra 1.25% cashback isn't always available; it varies by seller. Some sellers offer the extra cashback, while others may not. Even without the extra cashback, a 15% discount is still quite good.
