Travel Edge Premium or Discrepancy

I just booked a domestic flight ticket via the Travel Edge portal. The total cost for the return flight that I paid was Rs. 56727. I checked the same on SmartBuy, and the price was around 55k. So, I thought, "It’s fine, just a few hundred more, which will be compensated by the reward points I’ll earn with Magnus for Burgundy vs. Infinia."

After the booking, I received an email with the prices from the airline (Air India Express), and when I summed up the prices for both tickets, it turned out to be 53802.

So, what do I find? Axis Travel Edge decided to charge me a “premium” of Rs. 2925. And here I was thinking I was saving money in form of those reward points!

Now, the real question: Is this justified, or should I have just gone with Infinia? 🧐

Looking for wisdom from the Guru's of the forum. I need answers, not just miles! 😅

Infinia vs Magnus Burgundy flight markup New
Infinia charged 2.23% extra to partially offset the 16.5% return you will get using Infinia on Smartbuy 5x for air tickets.

Traveledge charged 5.44% extra to partially offset the 24% return (43.2% for Accor) you will get after 90 days for using Magnus Burgundy on Traveledge.

Traveledge spend on M4B u get the points in 1 week.

On travel edge the price is almost higher always than smartbuy. Only adv using travel edge platform is for points. Nothing else

If you book one passenger return ticket at a time, you will get a lower markup.
Good to know.
Yes even I have stopped using travel edge long time back due to inflated prices. Inflation is even higher when you book tickets for 3-4 people together
Yes, I booked it for 3 members. I believe after each sale, dynamic pricing would trigger an increase in the prices. Instead of saving, we will loose on the increased prices.
If you have used atlas directly on air india website, you would have received (18% in accor) and 8% FR points.
TravelEdge still has an edge I think. I don't have Atlas.

@drsel did I make a mistake booking via TravelEdge or it is still beneficial compared to SmartBuy in terms of returns?

You need to delete all the cookies and book Google incognito.
You will get 24% return on traveledge so losing 5.44% is no big deal
