Upgrade Alert: Yes Bank Reserve Card LTF to Marquee LTF - Free Upgrade Process

I just wanted to share a recent experience in case anyone is interested in getting a free upgrade to the Yes Bank Marquee Credit Card (LTF - Lifetime Free).

I started with the Yes Bank Reserve Credit Card LTF. But I decided to request an upgrade to the Yes Bank Marquee Credit Card LTF, which typically comes with a ₹9,999 annual fee. To my surprise, the upgrade was approved and I was able to get the Marquee Card with Lifetime Free (LTF) status!

Here’s a quick summary of what I did:

1. Initial Card: Yes Bank Reserve Card (LTF)
2. Upgrade Request: Contacted Yes Bank customer support at yestouchcc@yesbank.in and requested an upgrade to the Yes Bank Marquee Credit Card.
3. Outcome: Got the upgrade approved with no annual fee (LTF).

Edit 1: 18-Dec-2024 : Got today email that there was technical issue going on where many customers got free LTF without asking, so they reverted my card to Reserv, As I have email confirmation, I told them to reactivate / reissue marquee card. Will keep posted here as it progress. From my understanding the technical issue coincided with the date range of my LTF request. Emailed nodal office and PNO, waiting for revert.

Edit 2: 06-jan-2025: Still no update from PNO or any department. If I don't get response, I may proceed to escalate to RBI

Edit 3: 20-jan-2025: PNO is not helping me out and they are not ready to reverse it. So reaching out to RBI.

How to avail yes Bank reserve rupay card? I tried yesterday and it shows me you are not meeting our criteria is it because I recently close anq card phi n virtual rupay card?

Did they call you to activate your card, and during that call, did you ask them to convert it to LTF?
After how many days did you receive the call?

I was using Reserv LTF extensively since last 2 years, especially for foreign transactions and wanted an upgrade to Marquee LTF. So I emailed them for upgrade and they refused with the following email:



But the next day I saw the upgrade to Marquee available on the IRIS app and net banking, but it was a paid upgrade with 9999 fees.
But also, as you can see in the screenshot above, they rightly or wrongly wrote that charges will not be applicable:

'Further, in case of any upgrade in future or transfer to another variant of card, the fees and charges specific to variant will not be applicable.'

So I sent them another email saying that I am already eligible for paid upgrade and demanded LTF while citing this line from their reply.

However, unfortunately they still declined:

This is what had happened to me - i just called to check features of this upgrade and they upgraded the card without my consent. Escalate to PNO and they will make it LTF.
