For the heavy spenders, this is a great deal since you get multiple loyal hotel loyal memberships and do anything concierge service.

If you don't spend a lot of money but feel the points can help, you can still upgrade for the points.

Yes any upgrade or new application referral application even for supplementary card there is VKYC

No this is incorrect - again must be case to case basis.

I never had any VKYC after my 1st AMEX application.

They utilize the same records for your other/new applications.

So I tried asking over phone and chat if they could tell me what "American express experiences" happened last year or are supposed to happen this year and they just say we can't share lol. Kuch hota bhi hai ya kaat rahe hain? Also these experiences are paid or free ?

Last time it worked for me on Silver membership only, Gold can make it better chance.

Mostly outside India , elite tiers below platinum doesn't get you anything 😀
May be some recognition you will get in SEA.

That 135000 MR points itself is maximizing benefit.

Earlier they used to give 100K to 115K MR points, for fresh applications they give 45K Taj vouchers.

Amex is joining bandwagon of remaining banks (Axis, HDFC, SBI etc). No concern for a customer spending 36L.

But last time in 2023 we heard some users reporting Renewal benefits of close to 80K MR points or equivalent Taj vouchers. But 40K is very very less.

Oh yes for.me it happened and when I applied supplementary card for my mom Plat travel she is not aware of all the questions they ask she was looking at me and I promoted her to say these things but the rep rejected stating should not look else where for prompts. Maybe security issues they think for a 79 year old this would have been a first credit card and she was rejected twice on vkyc and she got fed up and she said I don't want any and now receives email application incomplete please complete it.

BTW I had this upgrade on my Amex plat travel he said card will not be closed. I hold Amex plat travel + gold charge & this will be my 3rd card. No other action needed apart from the mentioned offer
