UPI in J&K

Bhai UPI ka prepaid sim or postpaid sim se kiya lena dena.

Before going to J&K, just activate your UPI and set the UPI PIN. Don't take the SIM card out of the phone.
yes but
they need another sim in phone to get this work in J&K or need wifi to connect with internet

As soon as new sim will inserted/replaced, some phone info will be changed, upi will become deregister and ask to register it again.

they will give a try to insert a new yatri/J&K sim in secondary slot by stopping phone info permissions temperory from the upi app and then enable the permissions again before opening upi app. Try register as many upi app as possible, some of them might work as they only look for registered sim is replaced or not.

Will UPI work in J&K
Yes

I think prepaid sims will not work which is out of J&K.
True

if one has postpaid sim can it be used for UPI payments
Yes.

If this is your primary number used for banking purpose, the best way would be to convert your existing SIM to postpaid for that period of time. You will have to visit Airtel or Jio store and get a new Postpaid SIM. Do this before going to JnK so that you don't miss any critical Banking SMS.

Yes.

Airtel will not convert to postpaid without changing the sim and re-kyc. That sim will work on roaming all over India including JnK.

With Jio you have option to convert to postpaid on myjio app and it will be processed within an hour. That will work as roaming postpaid sim all over India except JnK.

I've been to j&k many times so here's my advice:
Just keep the sim with upi in the device it doesn't matter if you change/remove the other sim. Just don't remove upi sim from your device and it will work fine.

Better if you have device with esim.

yes. I just remembered. I had to change the SIM for this same purpose.
I had swapped my Airtel SIM from prepaid to postpaid. The remaining balance was adjusted with monthly credit.

Use your UPI sim on sim slot 1 and use new yatri/J&K sim in slot 2.

UPI apps will never ask you to re-registered. Just dnt remove your UPI sim from slot 1 or dnt insert your new yatri/J&K sim in slot 1.
