Vietnam in November

For a trip to Vietnam in the month of January, can Sapa be considered as not many were adding to their itinerary. I'm planning for a 9 day trip and not sure what places I can cover. Have these in mind: Hanoi, Sapa, Ha Long Bay, Da Nang, Hoi An. Please provide your suggestions on the places to visit. .

I'm travelling to vietnam with friends on 22 nov 2024, planned & booked everything on my own.
Booked flights in May 2024
Booked hotels in aug 2024
Took visas in oct 2024

There's actually no challenges and everything is straight forward.
There are enough YouTube videos explaining via process and all places to visit.

My flights, hotels and visas were together under 30k i guess for 6 days
We've planned for a budget trip, so going on the cheapest flights vietjet and airasia. Rooms are all airbnb.
Visiting ho chi minh city and danang

Yes It is very safe and convenient to use. I recently travelled to Vietnam from Nov 1 - 12, and used grab heavily for cabs. I was not able to add diners card on it, was able to add visa and mastercard though.

Also I suggest you to pay with cash on Grab, as there is 4% extra charge on foreign cards.

I travelled in end of Nov 2024.

For the said group, ensure you have booked for a transport vehicle in Vietnam (search and find agencies who can facilitate that). Becuase it's going to be hectic if you try to move from a place to another via taxi or other means with such a big group, especially with kids.
Secondly, ensure to have google translator working since majority of Vietnamese doesn't know English. When I went with friends, we always used google tantalate to communicate.
Thirdly, ensure you carry enough cash with you (bring usd and change it from there. do not change from airport as they give very poor rates). Card acceptance is limited ot bigger shops and restaurants.

No idea about medical facilities, but ensure to take travel insurance from an trustable and reliable agency in your location. Because if there is a requirement o claim it (God forbid) customer care isnt going to be of that much help, especially when you call them with international call charges. The agency can be your spoc and they'll do the fight with the insurance company incase there are hiccups.

Weather in April seems good. If you're visitng Bana Hills, then take sweaters and jackets as it can get chilly.

And finally, Vietnamese are very gentle and polite. They do respect tourists, unlike Thailand (in my experience). So be sure to respect them and their culture as well.

PS: please carry in your bags enough energy bars or biscuits for kids since, until its and India restaurant or something, kids won't like the taste of their Local food.

Hope this help 🙂
