If not, can you guys suggest a way to get reward points on paying AMEX CC bill.

You will get rewards on freecharge using IDFC Firstap RuPay DC. Sometimes rewards credit after 24hrs.

P.s. I have used SBI VDC and got reward points.

Only RuPay debit card accepted. Apply SBI Virtual RuPay Debit card and get 1% cashback.

Some people told here they got rewards on IDFC RuPay DC too on Standard Chartered bill payment via billdesk (im not sure, just pay small Rs300 amount and check)

One question: to get welcome rewards, the >1000 txn can be done online also or has to be offline merchant?

You can do anything. Even fuel spends also count

Mention SBI RuPay variant otherwise some people will apply visa/mastercard.

RuPay variant accepted on many websites/apps and no extra charges.

Right now whenever I tried to pay cc bill through phonepe app via idfc rupay dc,
I got merchant name as PHONEPE PRIVATE LIMITED

And I am not getting any reward points.

I am also use freecharge for cc payment via idfc rupay dc, but I am not sure in which name I will get rewards points

Please someone help me

PhonePe is not rewarding points now. Only freecharge is giving. As of now any merchant name of freecharge is giving points
