Which Debit Card to use for Credit Card Bill Payment in April 2025

How many points we earn maximum with SBI virtual debit card in a month/year.Is there any capping of reward points ?

Maximum you earn is 10K points per month. So 5L payments can be made. But in Birthday month 2.5L.

Most Probably everyone knows this but now MCC Code for PhonePe is 6012 which is not eligible for rewards for IDFC. But we can still pay with SBI VDC

I have also not received instant reward points on payments done on FreeCharge via IDFC First Tap Debit card. The merchant name is FREECHUTIL.

I can confirm this. Although IDFC usually recategorises this after a few days. In any case the category is not indicative of the MCC.

i lost Hope For That Transaction But Today Received Points

i ask him, cc bill payment transaction ?

he told - sorry Just Checked Idfc statement , Its Phonpe Private Limited bengaluru. yes Credit Card Bill Payment with firstap

Anyway, if you get any error like "unable to process your order" then login other freecharge account and pay using same IDFC Firstap RuPay DC.

Yes @Abhishek012 is right, I also got similar error for one of CC, I remember that I did one test payment and then tried full payment which was failed, after that when I try repayment again then was getting error "unable to process your order, kindly contact administrator" like that.

Hence I created new account with new mobile number and tried repayment of same CC and gotcha it succeeded,

I'm not generalising this as, but I tried this approach and it worked, so in case someone facing similar issue then one can try this,

Interesting, mine test payment didn't receive RP, I transacted 9 days back while freecharge I got RPs immediately

Today they have changed the merchant name to FreechargePaymentTechno and its not giving RPs for now. We will need to wait and see if RPs get credited after a day or two but most likely its gone
