Grid is needed only on using Web page for any banking needs. If you are using Mobile Banking app then Icici DC is going to pretty much collect dust after maybe 1 use to activate the Mobile banking(Maybe not used here too). I have an old Silver savings account which has DC free. Now silver account has actually been discontinued. So not sure if they will charge me for DC this year.. MAB is still 25k.U can but if it happens to change pin or change device to upi then u need dc and grid in icici
{Always yearly once clear all unused non revenue dc and cc}

I think there is also an option to use icici username and passwordThe ICICI DC Grid is such a harebrained idea! My SB account with them is left virtually unused because of this. I don't use iMobile.
.
???I think there is also an option to use icici username and password
That's Right . I have tested it. DC not needed if you use iMobileGrid is needed only on using Web page for any banking needs. If you are using Mobile Banking app then Icici DC is going to pretty much collect dust
I got Platinum Rupay So now I am not thinking about the gird issue.
But my insight is:
1. You can transfer money without Grid Using imps.
2. Can transfer money to any UPI ID from ICICI Official App without any UPI PIN.
I haven't tested any merchant.
So if anyone here is thinking of one can transfer without Debit Card. The answer is You can.
