Yes Bank MARQUEE Credit Card launched - Features & Benefits | Full Details

how does that calculation work? you will still have the additional points left over to use again regardless of the 70% cap. how does it drop to 3.15% instead of 4.5%?
The calculation is for a transaction. Every time you transact you will get 3.15% effective rate.

SBI CB is good where you will get 5% (Based on MCC). However Marquee is good for online (4.5%) and special category 1.5% (Income tax payment etc) where other card didn't provide such rewards. Bookmyshow 1+1 (800 max per tkt)

how does that drop the value from 4.5 to 3.15?
Original Reward Rate: You earned 4.5% in reward points, which equals 36 reward points per INR 200 spent.

New Rider Restriction: Only 70% of the flight cost can be paid using reward points.

Effective Reward Rate Calculation: Initially,
you could use rewards for 100% of the flight cost. Now, you can only use rewards for 70% of the cost. This means that the effective usability of the rewards is reduced. Since you used to be able to cover 100% with rewards, covering only 70% reduces the effectiveness.

The original reward rate was 4.5%, but now only 70% of the value can be effectively utilized due to the restriction. Therefore, the effective reward rate becomes 3.15%

I am getting this card as an option but not sure whether the fees justifies the benefits.

Lounge has 1L spend limit and I don't watch movies

i see, this card still has one of the highest returns even with that cap assuming the points on hand is always much higher than the cost of flight to be booked.

With flight only redemption giving decent return this had become sort of redundant for me. It was great to have as long as vouchers were encashable at .25per point. Even did tax payments a lot and then paid bill by IDFC Wealth debit card, it was great combination. It was very good all rounder card till then. But did not last even for a year. Now I have closed this and moved to Axis Atlas, which gives better return if flights and Accor transfer is choice. There are lot more exclusions in Atlas spends but let me see how it works out.

what exactly changed that made you close the card prematurely as if the bank deeply offended you?
I got 60K rps that I was able to use to get the initial fee sorted. I don't travel international a lot so doesn't make sense to hold the card when domestic lounge is tied to spend threshold. Second not happy with the way they devalued the redemption options. Third i have infinia and 90% of my txns are via smart buy so I can let go of the 4.5% marquee reward rate. I'll manage the bogo with zenith+/sapphiro.

Just remember this, you are now dealing with 🪓... good luck

People with Add On Marquee or Yes credit cards, I recently got my add on cards however I have a question about how to use them.

The OTP and notifications all go to the numbers of the add on users but they do not have the card in their IRIS app. Only I, the primary card holder is able to see the add-on cards in my IRIS app. It indicates that they are add-on cards.

Is there any way to add these add on cards to the add-on user’s IRIS app as they are YES savings customers as well?

I think no. Addon's can't be added to their profiles as Main card holder would track everything.

Rp rate stays the same.
If you have 28000rp. You can redeem it at .25 I.e. inr 7000rs. If your tickets costs more than 10k then you can use all of the points.
For the rest (ticket price-7k) you can use your marquee cc which will again give you 36rp/200rs. (4.5% if you redeem for flight in future)

Why are you fixated at redeeming at exactly same ticket price? So if you have only 10000rp and ticket cost 10k rs. You redeem 10k rp at 2.5k rs(25% of ticket price). Does that mean return becomes 25% of 4.5% (1.125%)? Answer is no.

What it does is it try to lock in the customer, Which is business 101. When you use yes cc to pay the balance amount, you acquire more point. So youll end up coming back again. This doesn't mean rp rate was changed.

This only affects people who have cc which gives much better return( infinnia/dcb/m4b, may be atlas) because there is a opportunity cost for not using the best cc.
