Zomato Gift card usage options

I usually use zomato gift cards to pay at restaurants.
But zomato recently changed the UX, and they navigate the user to District app where there is no option to use zomato money.

I bought a 1500 gift card via gytfr hdfc and now I am stuck with it as I can't use it for dining payments.

Is this a devalution of not allowing to pay via gift card?
Also, any other options I can use the zomato money apart from food orders?

Have you tried contacting customer care for this issue? Better get some confirmation from them once.

There should be a way for this. Maybe they will take time to on board gvs on District. Try contacting them to find it out.

Use it on Blinkit. It accepts Zomato Money.

Just saw now with a notification balance can only be exclusively used on Zomato only. New wallet for Blinkit on the line.

(1) This is going to be tough one, but you need to place orders for people at a discount rate. That's the best way I can think of to get that out.

Or

(2) You could email grievance, and explain that the amount is too large and you need it transferred to your bank. Reason mai likh dena ki you had added money for groceries, but blinket wallet ne poora plan chopat kardiya. Hence, now I'm stuck 🤣

Try karke dekho 2nd point, else 1st hi karna padega.

Thanks for the help @6ix9ine and @theflash . Just mailed Zomato Customer care with the aforementioned excuses. Lets see what they reply. Can probably ask for a transfer to Blinkit wallet whenever it is live.

Man these companies in India have it so easy. Imagine wiping 10-15% of your liabilities in one change without any care of action from legal authorities.

Thank god for rbi in India that banks are at least somewhat held back (at least relatively) otherwise they would just fleece us dry and give us sleepless nights

i saw the banner and write a mail regarding refund. They replied that money cant be refunded, and can be used for zomato orders upto 4 years (standard reply). I'm waiting for blinkit wallet to go live, then I would request for transfer to blinkit wallet.

After running into the same problem as OP, I now rely on Swiggy Dineout as my primary option for dining payments, provided the restaurant accepts it. I load my Swiggy wallet with discounted GVs from HDFC SmartBuy Gyftr.
Personally, I think dining should have been a part of Zomato instead of District. Dining is food and food is Zomato. District is events and movies.

Only best part with Blinkit as of now is the provision of GST invoice for purchase. Across q commerce nobody provides as of now.
