It's a glitch....
Check in mobile app. For me in app it's same 1:1 cashback. As others said already it should be glitch.
Autopay works on entire bill amount. You can pay by other methods but autopay will also deduct same bill amount. Then it's upto bank if it will accept exceed payment or not.

Even if its auto paid, max cashback is 750 rupees only (which is 0.41%). You can better pay the bills using other debit cards (like sbi), which gives around 0.5%, instead of relaying with HDFC Platinum card.

You mean to say that even if I pay say 1 Lakh by sbi virtual debit card even then auto pay will debit full amount

stop the autopay payment if you decide to pay manually... i actually paid my AU card bill worth 50k manually, but forgot to stop the autopay. hdfc smartpay paid another 50k and my au card was showing credit of 50k. i had to call the CC and get the balance transfer to my savings account.
Y E S. Because you have not stopped autopay. So if you decide to pay any scheduled bill manually, first click on stop payment and then go for manually paying that bill.
