Union bank RuPay Unicorn Select Credit Card | Blinkit gv, Myntra gv, BMS, Free lounge, Swiggy, MMT 10% off Flight booking etc

Initially, when PNB and Union Bank introduced RuPay credit cards, the reward rates were lower than their Visa variant
.
later, I raised a complaint with NPCI and the banks, after which they made the RuPay variants match Visa in terms of rewards.
I think the RuPay Select debit card hadn’t been launched during that time. I had only complaint for RuPay credit cards.
Rupay Select was always equivalent to Visa Signature in terms of reward rates. How could Rupay Platinum not be anything but just like Visa Platinum? It was designed specifically to be Visa Platinum's alternative. At a time Visa Platinum dominated India's card market, a space not taken by Rupay Platinum.

Rupay Select though always endeavoured to be a cut above Visa Signature in all domains. It hasn't always been so. Rupay Platinum is why Visa Infinite exists in India. Rupay Ekaa would be why Visa Infinite Privilege comes to India.

Banks and NPCI don't act on mails btw. Select was on works well before Rupay Platinum was launched. Just like Ekaa ke baad ka is on works now. 🙂

The reward points were low in the beginning. That’s what I was talking about.

Reward points for what? Platinum? Platinum was initially launched as 0.25% card. Same as Visa Platinum tab ka. Fir both scaled up to .5 together. Signature was always 1-5% reward rate before Infinite and devaluation. Peak Signature was better than current Infinite. Rupay hasn't reached anywhere close to that. Nor has Infinite or Infinite Privilege worldwide.

When Signature was the top tier, that was the most rewarding tier that the world has ever seen in any card network.

Utna yaad nahi kitna percentage tha but PNB, Union bank yeh sab me kam tha reward rate.

Aise bhi reward point banks offer karte hai na ki card network. After complain unlogo ne sahi kiya tha.

yeh Union bank ka RuPay Select DC ka rahe gaya tha bas kyunki yeh card baad me launch hua tha, visa signature DC k equal reward dene chahiye union bank ko RuPay Select DC k liye bhi.

Equal to deti hain.

i don't know, who designed/created HNI Emperio DC, they gave better benifits like
  • ₹24k worth ITC Culinaire Select
  • Flat ₹500 off on Book my Show
  • & other RSDC Benifits
But they forgot about Reward rate.

-> Even Union Udaan [ 10k QAB ]account's Visa Signature DC has better reward rate of 1% than 0.25% reward rate of SBHNP [ 10 Lakh QAB ] account's HNI Emperio DC.
Hoping New upgraded HNI Emperio DC comes with Rupay Ekaa & all voucher benifits , etc in Future.

any new Premium account or Premium debit cards creation in Union Bank,[ like 50 lakh QAB Canara Crest + account ]
Emperio is not a premium card buddy. 10 lakh TRV me aur kya chahiye?

We don't issue premium cards as CASA or deposits is not a focus area for us. Our CASA ratio is amongst the lowest in the industry. Last dedh saal se we are reducing our total deposit base infact.

Even Vyom mixing is strategically aimed at reducing deposit base.
Emperio is the definitely a primium debit card, which is only given SBHNP [ 10 L QAB account ] customers

We don't why Rupay Platinum come here & Union's RSDC is never not equal to Union's Visa Signature DC , because Union gave less reward rate on your RSDC.
Equal to deti hain.
Looks like you not read all previous messages clearly @Broodi

What we are saying that Union Visa Signature DC gives 4 points per ₹100 spent [ 1 % back ] , where as Union Rupay Select DC gives only 1 point per ₹100 spent [ 0.25% back ]

Fun part is that, Even 10 L QAB SBHNP premium account's HNI Emperio DC gives only 1 point on ₹100 spent [ 0.25 %] , which is definitely worse because not even half, they reduced by 1/4 times. , where as the old Union Visa Signature DC , which is given to 10k QAB SBPRO account gives has more reward rate of 1% .

i.e your latest primium offering HNI Emperio is not equal to basic Visa Signature DC.

Where as Union Visa Signature Credit card & Rupay Select Credit card has same reward rate [ 4 points on 100 spent [ 1% ] ]

DC me Rupay cards me whatever bundles we offer beats Visa.

Visa is offered by default for DC by us. Koi force nahi karta customer ko ki woh Rupay le. Khud aate hain.

I am an employee. It's not on site yet but is live from today and we can issue it from today. And can be availed against deposits for free and for income/TRV appropriate wealth relationships for free and for others it's 2400+GST (no waiver possible for others and rejection rate is high).

Exact criteria is yet to be out but will be out soon. Today was our foundation day.

Ab drawback bolta hoon.

Maximum monthly rewards capped at 2500. Which makes maximum 66000 spends a month usable for 4.18% effective reward rate without vouchers.

But when you add vouchers worth 264000 a year, 8 Times Prime, 8 Amazon Prime, 8 Hotstar, 8 Sony Liv, 8 Zee 5 (Total 59960) plus Cultfit Elite (45690) and the spa and health check ups (around 64000) without counting golf and lounges, your rewards will be 466150 on spends of 776000 (60.08% Rewards on spending). 400000+ rewards on doing nothing.

Also 10% reward rate on Flipkart, Myntra, Fastrack, Titan, GoIbibo Hotels, Cleartrip, Lifestyle stores, Adidas, Pepe Jeans, Oppo, Tira, Boat, Pantaloons, Nilkamal, Sonata, Lenskart etc after 20000 or during birthday month. Flipkart's cobranded cards do not give these.

We could have made it better (having a better cap and more partners). But are led by old people who are clueless and do not look at private players as threat.
  • Do you work in Union Bank of India's regional office for credit card division in Koti, Hyderabad Or some where in other region

1. No
2. Participation in all. Influence waala system nahi hota. We have processes which we follow. Anyone can give suggestions for any field and best are implemented.

Is ccd.grievances@unionbankofindia.bank also valid? It's mentioned in the MITC Document but whenever I have mailed that them about any grievances, when not getting a satisfactory response from the cchelpdesk email. I have never gotten a response back from the grievances email.
Valid.
You not getting a response from that ID is not a glitch. It's standard. The department is understaffed and filled with generalist and led by old school thought in a bank which issues CCs because RBI mandates it. This isn't a core product offering for us.

Unicorn.webp
Got the card today. Wanted to clarify few things.
Total 4 Unicorns with add ons and total 4 virtual Unicorns. Makes it 8.

I checked and you do not get vouchers with Virtual cards as it was previously mentioned by Broodi. You only get the vouchers with the main card. (Still a good card for me, as I already held a useless Union Bank card previously that I didn't use, so I just converted that to Unicorn).

Also, You can only redeem one of the four OTT mentioned in a year. Not all of them.

What's the BIN ?
The card BIN is 65309731.

One funny thing I noticed is that in the welcome letter, The Annual fee waiver is mentioned as on annual spends of Rs. 50,000 only. Which is different from the 3 Lakh mentioned on the website.
