Anyways if used outside the Dubai Mall discover and jcb comes into play...

Only for Dubai Mall it's rupay correct me if I'm WRONG
I will share another interesting fact but first talk about RuPay card acceptance in UAE -

Another person shared this image, RuPay card accept in Aster hospital in Dubai.

Slowly, all UAE merchants will accept RuPay cards.

Note - Officially, its called RuPay Domestic cards because we paid in INR currency in Dubai.

Interesting fact -

Note - RuPay Global network currently available in UAE, Bahrain, Nepal, Singapore, Bhutan.

Now the interesting fact. Its possible your RuPay co-branded global cards with Discover and JCB card network will not accept in some merchants in UAE, Bahrain, Nepal, Singapore, Bhutan but your RuPay domestic cards (those cards written "valid only in India") will accept all merchants in UAE, Bahrain, Nepal, Singapore, Bhutan.

Reason - Outside India, your RuPay cobranded global cards are Discover and JCB card, If any merchant is not accept Discover and JCB network card then your transaction will get declined but if same merchant accept RuPay cards then your RuPay domestic cards will work.

Here few examples -

Read this news - "Currently, all variants of RuPay card is accepted in Nepal SBI Bank PoS machines whereas global variant of RuPay is accepted in Nepal SBI Bank ATM terminals".

Source - https://thehimalayantimes.com/business/use-of-rupay-card-in-nepal-sbi-atms-pos

Since, Discover and JCB dnt have any partnership with Nepal SBI Bank that's why global variant of RuPay card is not accepted (ofcourse, its also possible RuPay Global variant will accept in future after negotiate with Discover and JCB card network, if they agree).

Another, example here Singapore's NETS - https://www.nets.com.sg/faqs/business/accept-foreign-cards-and-payments/

Currently, only 5 Indian bank issuing RuPay domestic cards are accept in Singapore merchants.

NPCI official told many times, RuPay domestic cards will accept in Singapore.

Now if you want to know which cards are RuPay domestic cards -

Any RuPay card number start with 508, 60, 81, 82 BIN numbers are domestic cards.

RuPay Global cards are start with 65 (Discover/Diners club variant) and 35 (JCB Variant).

RuPay domestic cards also accept in other countries, so dnt get confused with the name.

When i swiped BOB Premier card (JCB) on one of the local merchant with newer POS machine, the swipe machine asked me to choose the network (Domestic / JCB)

Yes, some merchants also accept both network and ask to select which network you want to use.

Domestic network (RuPay) will debit INR currency. which network you choose ?

So using rupay card internationally will give us a direct value of the currency without any charges?

And what about UPI, government is also planning to make UPI globally accepted just like Rupay, so how will that work??

Yes but i saw RuPay circular where mentioned 1.18% maximum currency conversation charges (INR to Singapore dollar) but i think its also depend on banks and card variant too.

UPI also work same way, many International website now accept UPI, website payment page showing international currency but your UPI apps will showing INR currency, before pay. Same way International offline QR payment also showing INR currency in your UPI apps, before pay.

I also found one web hosting international website. Can't remember the website name. This website also accept RuPay card.

Payment gateway otp page showing US dollar but otp sms i receive on my phone, INR currency amount showing.

Currency conversion rate showing exact same amount i found on google search "US dollar = INR". Infact a few pennies less than a google search result.
