ahshsh

TF Buzz
I am using my IOCL HDFC card since 1.5 years now,
With same 25k limit !
Asked them to increase they said to mail documents to Chennai and I did!
when Can I expect reply from them? or they won’t bother to see my application?
I sent them ITR with 3.8LPA Income (self employed)

I requested the same thing and said can I send docs via email, to which I got this reply. Does this mean I can send a PDF of my ITR (full computation) with the password to the customer service agent over email?

could you please share me the escalation mail ID details. even for me also they rejected for limit enhancement for my regalia credit card.

bro, they rejected my request. should I close the card? and apply again after a 6 months or year? what can i do for increasing limit

you can try but apprx. 30k pm means you can expect limit to only under 1L with new card. anycase, if you're going for 6 months then apply using c2c with better limit card.

My wife has an LTF HDFC Moneyback Credit card with a 2.50 lakh limit. She fulfils the criteria for BizBlack (income-based) but HDFC has rejected the application. They have sent the same mail regarding sending documents to Chennai office. Should I print 70 page ITR document or send just the ITR acknowledgement? Also, what can I do to ensure issuance of CC. I seldom use moneyback CC.

If there are limited spends, then only mail or sending documents are the only way. Spends are significant, we can stress them through mail but if sending documents might help for upgrade.

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share my frustrating experience with the HDFC BizGrow Credit Card. After an initial rejection, the card was approved following a grievance, but with a very low limit of ₹15,000. Despite my request not to activate it until a suitable limit was granted, HDFC activated the card and added it to my CIBIL report.

This isn't my first issue with HDFC. I closed my previous MoneyBack Business Card due to a similarly low limit of ₹16,000, despite applying for C2C with a ₹60,000 limit. After months of trying to get a limit increase, I gave up and closed the card.

Now, with another low limit on this new card, I’m unsure whether to activate it or close it again. Has anyone faced similar issues? Any advice on dealing with HDFC or getting a better limit would be appreciated!

Despite my request not to activate it until a suitable limit was granted, HDFC activated the card and added it to my CIBIL report.

As per: Master Direction (MD) - Credit Card and Debit Card – Issuance and Conduct Directions, 2022
If no consent is received for activating the card, the card-issuer is required to close the credit card account without any cost to the customer within seven working days from the date of seeking confirmation from the customer and shall also intimate the customer that the credit card account has been closed. Subsequent to receiving the intimation from the card-issuer that the card account has been closed, the customer shall destroy the card.

Further, the customer may file a complaint with the card-issuer against the issuance of unsolicited card and escalate it to the RBI Ombudsman as per Integrated Ombudsman Scheme.

Customer-initiated process indicating intent to use a credit card such as PIN generation, modification of transaction control, Interactive Voice Response, recorded call to the customer care centre and SMS may be considered as activation. However, if the card is not activated by the cardholder for more than 30 days from the date of issuance, card-issuers shall seek One Time Password (OTP) based consent in line with para 6(a)(vi) of the MD.

------

If you didn't do anything, then its not activated. Even if they reported to CIBIL, it will be deleted if not activated. If they purposefully saying activated, escalate to Ombudsman (If you really didn't activated).

Any advice on dealing with HDFC or getting a better limit would be appreciated!

1. Request through mail and follow-up with them properly, convey the request and issues related to low limit patiently and escalte to one-by-one until grievance mail.
2. Fill and attach income and send form to Chennai address (or any new changes in it).
3. Can request and speed process through BM/RM.

Will HDFC really increase the limit of newly issued credit card even for the customer who didn't activated the card yet due to extreme low limit

Will HDFC really increase the limit of newly issued credit card even for the customer who didn't activated the card yet due to extreme low limit

  • No, banks generally don’t increase limits on inactive cards unless they explicitly communicated a specific limit (like those pre-approved offers with limit) to you in writing, which could be used to escalate the issue. Otherwise, the limit is entirely at the bank's discretion, and customers can’t demand a particular limit.
  • Before Application:
    • If your income qualifies, opt for a higher card variant upfront to secure a better limit.
    • Using BM/RM help to apply C2C and get higher or matched limits.
  • After Approval:
    • Regular usage may prompt a limit increase over time.
    • You can apply for an LE after 6 months of usage with income docs.
    • A second card with a higher limit could be issued, and you may request to match that limit with your existing card (note that this is treated as a new application and follows the same before application criteria as above).
