I dont plan to, knowing kotak I have a suspicion that someday the super account holders can't downgrade their account to normal kotak 811. So I am keeping my ABSOLUTE ZERO bal ac for now.
From what I understand the "Super" is not an account in itself. Its a regular 811 Savings account with a "subscription" If you dont fulfil the condition of 5000 credit per month in a single txn, the account essentially behaves like a regular 811 SB Acc. The only additional benefit factor is that the DC is free but its cost is hidden in the annual subscription fee. So at this point the 5% CB is a + point.
 
Has anyone tried opening a new 811 Super account through the 811 App instead of the website? Just wanted to know which is the better way to open the account?
 
App will also open website page but inside the app.

However, seeing the direction in which the conversations in this thread are going, I am kind of questioning whether I should open it or not since the DC is what makes it valuable. Online txns are not fetching CB itcms but should work for most offline ones right? Say for example Fuel, Vehicle service, Dmart shopping, these are what came from top of my head.
Zero balance account with 5k credit txn every month that can be withdrawn immediately. So at the end of the year, the only loss would be the 300 renewal fee to the Super subscription.

I will advise against opening a/c at this moment, as you cant be sure if you will be able to recover annual fees or not at this moment! if you really need a bnk account then its different matter.
 
There is also the matter of receiving Pre-approved CC offer (mostly Myntra Kotak CC as mentioned in my own thread)
Keep your CC expectation low with kotak at the moment. As they will cater portfolio around HNI customers first , this is also evident from their newly launched CC. If you want sure offer then HDFC followed by Axis will be the best bate. You will surely get pre-approved offer in 6-12 month from opening account if transaction are there.

Thanks, thats what I will try to do then. SavingsMax in HDFC followed by Liberty in Axis.
 
No point making argument with those guys. They don't know basics.

Just complain through email or grievance tab (see few past post for pathways) with txn and crn details and date.

Not only unipay (4900) even airtel (4814) not received cashback yet. They preferred not responding me even after 4 working days. (They mentioned earlier that they will respond in 2 days).

Waiting for 30 days to end, to potentially earn 5000*2 =10,000/- from them. Both transaction on 7th Jan. Will try to attach their own email and whatsapp on this (before and after my transaction) before they charge the terms.

What they promised vs what they delivered. Plus value of my time and unnecessary efforts. They might go under ban again.
Their email response from grievance team: terms and conditions changed on 1st January 2025.

I have replied back with evidence.

Their own email communication only on 28th January inform us that t&c has changed. Before that their promotion received in email on 17th and 21st Jan says that utilities are eligible categories with mentioning my CRN no.

Will wait for few days then approach to RBI. Will add compensation 500 each day they delay from my 1st email dated 1st March 2025.
Lets see what happen. As far as I remember u got the cashback right?

Yes. Kotak Mahindra Bank is the worst bank to have banking relationship with. They Lie.

1. They first said that the t&c was changed on 1st January. When I confronted why did u asked me later (in email promotion) to pay utility bills to get cashback if you know that t&c changed, then they said.
2. MCC is not eligible. (For reference same MCC was eligible and I got cashback in previous month)

Either Kotak management themselves want Kotak bank to sink or their employees want to do it for them.
Bank thoda hi decision le sakta hay. Decision toh uska employee(s) le raha hay. Aur wo employee(s) v human hoga ya cheater ye v toh likhna chahiye tha na. Ye unhone t&c mein likhna vul gaye honge. Av wo v correct karne wale hain ek doh din mein. RIP Kotak.

I think I am wasting my energy fighting with cheaters who deny their own communication that asked me to pay utilities to get cashback when the later said t&c changed on 1st January 2025. Its a fraud by them. So, I think I should approach RBI on that ground and should ask for a higher compensation for disturbing my peace.

Got the email that time only. Replied immediately. I have no hope. So I thought 10 minutes is enough to write them back. Don't wanted to keep their reply in my inbox. Even didn't attach any further proof.

They told me different thing. They told me T&C applied since 1st January 2025.
Now when I asked them for the proof, seems like they are changing their own statements.

Update: Their PNO team responded well today on this matter through a call as well as through an email to put forward my arguments and my objections. Lets see how they respond resolving the issue. @Aniket @MrJJ @jyothisthaliath

For those who are patiently waiting for the Kotak 811 Super DC January cashback issue.
Here are some important updates. I got the call in the morning. See this and the following posts by other members.

They told me there was an internal fight. She mentioned, my proofs and logical arguments, particularly the email attachment of 17th January (eligibility of utilities), contributed a lot to winning on behalf of other genuine users and for those who have a sense within the banks.

Hence, the decision-making authority accepts the mistake and will credit the cashback, possibly in a few days in April, due to an accounting problem. The maximum deadline is 30 April. They will follow up with an email with the promise in written form to make my case smother for RBI if those "so-called" higher authorities backtrack again.
