HDFC Ergo & Apple Watch Reimbursement: A Massive Scam? - India Gets Moving Campaign

Hey everyone,

I’m facing a frustrating issue with HDFC ERGO’s "Stay Fit to Benefit" program under the Sarv Suraksha Plus (Group) Policy, and I wanted to check if anyone here has had a similar experience.

I’ve been actively walking since May/June 2024, well before I purchased the Apple Watch through their campaign. My step count has always been consistent, averaging around 24K–27K steps per day, but they are now questioning my January and February claims after months of no response.

Timeline of the Issue:

  1. Claim for Jan 2025 – Redemption initiated on 06 Feb 2025, but still not processed.
    • They suddenly raised a concern over Jan 26 (28,854 steps), but my monthly average was 24K steps, so this isn't unusual.
  2. Claim for Feb 2025 – Redemption initiated on 06 March 2025, but still no payout.
    • They flagged March 7 (29,402 steps), which is outside the claim period, making their objection completely irrelevant.

After weeks of no response, I escalated this to PG Portal, and the moment I did that, I suddenly got two emails from HDFC ERGO raising these concerns. It feels like a deliberate delay tactic to reject legitimate claims.

My Question:

Has anyone here faced a similar issue with HDFC ERGO? If yes, after how many days did you get a resolution after replying to their clarification emails?

Any insights or suggestions would be appreciated!
