Amex Metal Card - For all Card Types?

Recently I tried to block my Smartearn card and replace it. In the options I found option "Convert to metal card". I find same option also available for my MRCC card. So is Amex offering Metal Cards for all Card Types? Or is it a bug or a cheap trick by Amex to forece upgrade card to Platimum Charge

I have Platinum Charge and SmartEarn both, and I can see the "Convert to Metal Card" option for my SmartEarn. So it doesn't look like a cheap trick 😕

Great, now its time to check about replacement fee for a metal card & grab it if they are not having any additional T&C.

Sometime back there was lot of discussion on this. But no one got any metal amex card. So don't keep your hopes high.

I have contacted Amex customer chat support team they have confirmed that Metal card is available only for Platinum Charge card and not for all cards

So essentially its a bug. Incorrectly showing metal card for all card types.. Jokers.
