How to get AU Bank credit card lifetime (Steps) —
1. Apply for any AU bank credit card (All AU bank cards are being issued LTF to Gov & a few MNC employees - check LTF list).
2. Select your company name carefully
3. Wait for card approval
4. After card approval & delivery, you have to confirm your card pricing (LTF or Chargeable) from AU bank customer care.
If it's LTF... then enjoy.
If they inform you, your credit card is chargeable... then you have to request AU bank to provide you LTF card by sending them your proof of employment.
Send an email to creditcard.priority@aubank.in request them to convert your chargeable credit card to a LTF credit card & attach your last month salary slip & ID card.

AU Bank Customer care replied with this "We have reviewed your application CS20052274272. We regret to inform you that we are unable to process it at this stage as it does not meet the internal policy parameters of the Bank."

I also tweeted to AU Bank and got this reply:

What should I do next? My CIBIL score is good. I hold 7 credit cards.

Maybe due to 7 credit cards.... Your total limit of 7 cards combined might be much more in proportion to Salary... Sometimes bank reject due to this reason also...

you can request them to reconsider your card application, that's it...

What if the MNC I work in, comes under AU Bank's LTF list , but later, I leave that company?

No, but what if they were somehow tracking my company, or maybe I need to get the salary account in their bank, or maybe they charge the card, but remove it , once I provide my company payslip, out of which, I dont have proof, and suddenly baam! I have to pay 7999 + GST for a non-worthy card? 😎
According to the rule, your card will come chargeable, but the main question is... will you really report AU bank about your company change? 😛

Man please try to understand the meaning of the term "LTF".
It means "Life Time Free" means till the time you are alive, I'm sorry to say like this.
Once a card is converted to the "Life Time Free" variant & you get an official communication from them stating the same then doesn't matter where you are & what you do it will be "Life Time Free" for you forever.

Just go through the latest RBI Guidelines released in April 2022 in rule no:-vii under Point-9 in Chapter-2

"There shall not be any hidden charges while issuing credit cards free of charge"

I know what LTF means 🙂. You know, your HDFC Card will be LTF if you have had at least one smart pay enabled (old rule). If you disable it, by rule, you will not get it as LTF. Even some customer care say so. "The card is LTF as of now. But, if you disable smart pay, you need to pay charges."
Also, this is not some hidden charges. This is a conditional LTF. Meaning banks may start charging , if the condition is not fulfilled.

You are right.

Scenario:-1
Generally any conditional LTF(not spend based, but like one you mentioned or the one AU Bank Provides) becomes unconditional LTF after certain days of usage. I too had Regalia with SmartPay enabled but after 2 years it was converted to a unconditional LTF. I discovered it while talking to Customer Care for some other issues. initially I didn't believe but later I removed SmartPay from Regalia & after a year I saw it was really a unconditional LTF.

Scenario:-2
My CitiBank Indian Oil Credit Card was always chargeable.(500+GST if you don't spend a certain amount in the year). But 5 years while talking to Customer Care I suddenly came to know that it has been converted to unconditional LTF.

But again once a card is LTF, then chances are rarest of the rare that it will be converted back again.
In that case you can always argue with that entity,
