Axis Atlas

Very useful. Thanks

I have now almost made up my mind for Atlas.

😱This would be my 3rd card from Axis.. 🤢
Since this is a totally different measurement "Edge Miles", I think Axis may not devalue this. Also if you see very few own this card honestly. Despite having a Magnus, I used this card primarily on my int'l trip in May since the 4% after markup was attractive and also helped me move towards the first milestone.

My feeling is even if Magnus is devalued many wont move to Atlas simply because of the very staid rewards of only 4% on normal purchases or on agent travel websites. In your case I'm sure since you mentioned 15L spends on hotels this should already have been in your PF. Even for me it was the 3rd card after Magnus and Select (came free from Burgundy relationship)

Forgot to mention. 2.5x EM is valid only on direct flight/hotel bookings or through travel edge. Through OTAs you get a normal reward rate.
Yes @venkateshr did mention that. I think for his use case it would be appropriate, for everyone else’s 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

@neogen does. 🤷‍♂️

And its for his understanding I explained.

I cannot comment on everyone’s usage pattern. Taking atlas and spending on things that are not Travel and hotels does not make sense. Okay?
Oh that was rhetorical. XD
What I meant to say is, not many people will have travel spends upwards of 10L/annum. So not every Magnus user will be jumping at the Axis Atlas.

definitely, most people and even me relied on Utilities and Govt payments for the completion of our milestone. Atlas is a purely travel card and for most of us wont make sense.

Personally I barely travel 3-4 times a year on a flight and only do roadtrips whenever possible. Hence, I’ll be skipping the card most probably. But when I close the VI, maybe then. 🤞

Atlas doesn't give points on utilities and govt payments?

It does, but only 2EM/₹100 I think. That gives the return as 4% which is comparatively lesser than for people using Magnus and achieving the milestone. 🙁

ya but if not able to complete milestone Magnus is dud (if devalued like Reserve)

Why aren't you getting the 5x traveledge bonus for doing those same bookings on Magnus?
You’ll get those bonuses. But the rates are highly volatile there. When the returns were 18-24% it didn’t matter much. But now they’ll be capped at single digit returns even on the TravelEdge plus as it mentioned in the circular that there are going to be some kind of a limit on TravelEdge too and also it offers no discounts when compared to other sites.

5x would be capped at Rs. 2L / month and 5L points redemption allowed / year. I think those were the two main limits.

Assuming that the deval happens under those conditions I think Magnus would still come out better for the most part.

But it's all conjecture now. Magnus deval hasn't happened as yet. And if Axis does this deval so brutally as they have started - I'm sure the fallout would have lots of consequences.

Yes, just in TravelEdge if we consider the ROI would be around 18.5% for the Magnus and will still be the same 10% for Atlas considering the spent of 200k. But again, there is a weird rate difference between the TE and normal sites. Sometimes TE is like 8-10 cheaper somehow than other sites and then sometimes the opp. Plus the sites offer some sort of discounts. (Very limited for Axis somehow)
What are the normal sites? Are you saying TE charges 10% less/more than UA or EY or Marriott website??

And why 18.5???

I already applied ATLAS as 4th Card but as they didnt spared even FK and Myzone - entry level cards, I dont think they will spare Atlas. Here its not about how card is being misused or anything, here they want to cutdown everything
