Do read the thread again and provide all relevant details before asking for suggestions. Without knowing your spending pattern and whether you can achieve the milestones/fee waivers for these cards, it’s difficult to give accurate advice.

thinking of taking a premium card

My advice is that even a basic card can provide premium-level benefits if you use it wisely in areas where it delivers the most value. For example, the basic HDFC Millennia can give up to a 6% return after fees if used properly. On the other hand, a premium card can essentially become basic if you don’t spend enough to waive the fees or accumulate enough points to redeem.

For instance, with the premium Axis Atlas card, if you only spend ₹2 lakh, it might end up giving a negative 1% return—meaning you're losing money even after spending that much.

Don’t focus on the card being premium just on paper. Instead, analyze your actual spending habits to determine if you truly need a premium card.

These two goals contradict each other. If you're primarily a travel person, your preferred redemption should ideally be in miles, not cashback. As mentioned earlier, after reading the thread, you should determine whether you want rewards in miles, cashback, or vouchers. You can’t get the best of all worlds, because diversifying your spends across too many cards dilutes your returns and prolongs the time needed to redeem points.

For example, with the SC Ultimate card, you need to spend ₹3 lakh to redeem a ₹10k Marriott voucher. The longer it takes to hit ₹3 lakh, the longer it takes to redeem that voucher. Using one card consistently can help you redeem rewards faster. Spreading your spending across multiple cards makes it slower, and by then, the Marriott offer might no longer be available.

Rewards credit cards work best with frequent, focused spending. The faster you accumulate points, the better the reward rate.

Since you already have two Axis Bank cards (Ace and Neo), and now you’re being offered premium Axis cards like Privilege, Rewards, Select, Samsung Infinite, and Atlas, here’s some advice:

Without knowing your exact spending habits or preferences for redemption, it’s difficult to recommend a specific card. If you just ask for suggestions without context, the easiest answer would be, "apply for whatever you like," because I don’t have enough information about your spending patterns, preferred redemptions, or needs.

If your focus is travel, you're already earning 2% cashback with the ICICI Amazon Pay card. You won’t get a significantly better return with Axis Privilege, Rewards, Select, or Samsung Infinite.

The Atlas card requires at least ₹5 lakh in spending to deliver a decent return. Check out the thread below for more insights that may help you shortlist cards:

Privilege vs. Select (both are generally not recommended): https://www.technofino.in/community/threads/axis-privilege-vs-axis-select.25922/

Atlas spend requirement details: https://www.technofino.in/community/threads/axis-atlas-vs-hdfc-regalia-gold-vs-axis-horizon.26500/

Apologies if this isn’t a spoon-feeding answer, but providing detailed information will help you make a better decision. I hope you understand.

Anyway, if you still want a direct answer, then I’d say go for the Atlas, but as mentioned earlier, if your spending is low, you might end up paying Axis more than you gain in rewards.

Read the thread, provide all points then only suggestions possible. Otherwise, its no point to discuss because do not know your spending pattern and your achievability of milestone/fee waiver of those cards.

Advice: A basic card can simply becoming premium if you use the card wisely where it provides most value (ex: basic Millennia provides 6% after fee, if used properly). A premium card can simply becoming basic because you do not spend for either fee waiver or not enough points to redeem (ex: premium atlas with 2L spends gives -1% return, means you're paying back even after 2L spends).

So, don't on-paper think about it. Analyze your spends and see whether you really need it or not.

these two contract each other. Travel person preferred redemption should be miles not cashback. As mentioned, if you read the thread you should shortlist whether you need rewards in miles/cashback/voucher. Can't get all because in that case spends have to diverse all cards which reduces return and longer to redeem points.

Ex: SC Ultimate required 3L spends to redeem 10k marriot voucher. The longer you take to spend 3L, the longer is to redeem that voucher. If you use same card, it can be fast. If you use multiple cards its slow and by that time marriot no longer available.

can't suggest which card to suggest based on this information. You have some cards, you listed other. If you ask directly, then preferred answer would be 'apply or take anything you like' because I do not know your preferred redemption / apprx. spends / or your actual requirement of where you would like to use.

If its travel, then you already getting 2% with ICICI A-Pay. Can't get more with Privilege, Rewards, Select, SI.

Atlas need atleast 5L spends to get decent return. Check above thread also for your shortlisting do read below threads too, might be helpful.

Both are waste, btw: https://www.technofino.in/community/threads/axis-privilege-vs-axis-select.25922/

Atlas spend requirement: https://www.technofino.in/community/threads/axis-atlas-vs-hdfc-regalia-gold-vs-axis-horizon.26500/

My apologies its not spoon feeding answer directly, so have to give more details to make better decision, I hope you understand.

Anyway, still want direct answer then its "ATLAS" (but as mentioned, less spends you're paying to axis than you gaining).
Ok thanks for sharing the information my approx monthly spend is 2-3 lacs and then I guess it's not worth taking the premium card. Thanks again

appreciate you sharing your spending range. Actually, with a monthly spend of 2-3 lakhs (which totals about 36 lakhs annually), premium or even super-premium cards could provide significant value. For example, the Axis Atlas card, which I mentioned earlier, could offer high rewards for that level of spending.

Given your annual spend, you may want to consider ultra-premium cards, which can offer much better benefits than the basic or mid-tier cards like Privilege, Select, or Samsung Infinite. Based on your spending pattern, you might even qualify for exclusive cards like M4B, which often require a visit to the branch to apply but can provide superior value for high spenders like yourself.

To make the best recommendation, it’s important to understand:
  • Your spending range: This helps determine whether you can achieve the annual fee waiver and if the card’s rewards match your spending level.
  • Your spending categories: Different cards provide better rewards in specific categories (e.g., travel, dining, utility bills, etc.), so knowing where you spend the most will help in choosing the right card.
For example, if most of your monthly spend (e.g., ₹1 lakh on utilities and ₹1 lakh on rent) falls under categories where certain cards don’t offer significant rewards, then even with high spending, you may not be maximizing the benefits.

In summary: If your monthly spending is in the 2-3 lakh range, it's worth considering ultra-premium cards rather than the standard ones, but it’s also important to match the card’s rewards to your spending habits. Feel free to share more details about your spending categories if you'd like more specific suggestions.
