Axis Bank sending notice for clarification regarding customer's travel spends on atlas

Axis Bank today sent notices to many of its Atlas credit card customers requesting clarification and invoices regarding their "travel category spends". Axis Atlas is a travel-focused credit card, so it's surprising that the bank is asking for invoices and clarification for travel category expenses over the past few months. A few days ago, Axis Bank deducted Edge Miles and Edge Reward Points from some customers' reward accounts, citing business transactions. Now, they are requesting clarification on affected customers' travel spends within the next 30 days, otherwise, the bank will cancel their credit cards.

Many genuine Atlas customers have been affected by this move. Some people just spent under 10k on travel categories and received clarification notices. I can understand Axis's desire to eliminate abusers from their customer list, but troubling genuine customers is unacceptable. This is the main reason I didn't add the Axis Magnus Burgundy credit card/Axis Magnus credit card to our list of the best credit cards for 2024. While it may offer good rewards, it's not reliable at all. Axis should revert to their old credit card reward system as they are not capable of running a reward system with airmiles transfer partners.
For peace of mind, stay away from Axis Bank credit cards.

I have been mailing ever 2 days. Every mail they send keeps saying 3-4 days for resolution. Ab to devaluation bhi ho gaya - I am hoping for some action by tomorrow otherwise will be mailing them again.

I do not have the card so am not aware of the difference.
 
Has anyone who has their points redemption blocked asked for allowing redemption of magnus burgundy atleast?Devaluation is round the corner.

Update email received today after I sent them another stinker today. Not sure why the wait for 3 days, but at least it's unblocked.

Lessons learnt:

1. Don't keep any miles/rewards in your account, keep transferring them whenever accrued as there is no limit on redemption transactions.
2. Don't trust Axis

6. Close Vistara Infinite before renewal
7. Never do any business with Axis
8. Close Atlas if further devalued or if this thing happens again

Also, I just applied for the Yes Bank Marquee card yesterday and so I am looking forward to putting my online spends on that!

What did you send in the email? I am still waiting for the unblock email. All I get is we need more time of 05 days and internal interaction is initiated.
 
I think Bank's strategy is straight and simple. They will keep on lingering on reverting on the invoices submitted till near to April 20. This way they will be able to restrict the redemptions.

In the emails, I had written a bit sarcastically, something like now that the devaluation is done, can Axis please stop playing games and restore my Edge account and that I was getting tired of all this. It wasn't outright rude but definitely let them know that I am upset. And I kept following up every 2 days.

For transactions, I had traveled a LOT since November, so a lot of them were straight stays in Accor hotels - I sent them the invoices as well as the Accor dashboard showing all my stays and status. Plus a bunch of Airline tickets in my name, etc.

To be honest, as all of my spends were genuine, I was and am legit pissed off by such action by them. My edge account still hasn't been unblocked but I will wait 3 days before I follow up now.
