Axis Bank sending notice for clarification regarding customer's travel spends on atlas

Axis Bank today sent notices to many of its Atlas credit card customers requesting clarification and invoices regarding their "travel category spends". Axis Atlas is a travel-focused credit card, so it's surprising that the bank is asking for invoices and clarification for travel category expenses over the past few months. A few days ago, Axis Bank deducted Edge Miles and Edge Reward Points from some customers' reward accounts, citing business transactions. Now, they are requesting clarification on affected customers' travel spends within the next 30 days, otherwise, the bank will cancel their credit cards.

Here, I'm attaching a copy of the notice email:

Many genuine Atlas customers have been affected by this move. Some people just spent under 10k on travel categories and received clarification notices. I can understand Axis's desire to eliminate abusers from their customer list, but troubling genuine customers is unacceptable. This is the main reason I didn't add the Axis Magnus Burgundy credit card/Axis Magnus credit card to our list of the best credit cards for 2024. While it may offer good rewards, it's not reliable at all. Axis should revert to their old credit card reward system as they are not capable of running a reward system with airmiles transfer partners.
For peace of mind, stay away from Axis Bank credit cards.

Rather spending lakhs in flight bookings and hotel reservations on Axis Cards only to be blocked,
going to vanavasam on foot is better , nothing to pay and get detoxed.
In your words, @drsel ji is equivalent to AXES premium cards supreme commander!! 😉
Hence vanavasam is not apt for him..
Let him come out and speak out in defending/ explaining how generous AXES is

You uploaded the invoices on web link or email to premium / pno?
I uploaded on the web link twice on 12th and 13th, because I didn't receive any confirmation on my email after uploading the documents.
Then I sent an email to premium, because I wasn't sure if they received my documents or not. Then I got a resolution with 24 hours. So I think it was premium experience email that worked for me.

Did you received that Famous 5 days wait mail ?

Folks - Need guidance.

I booked a air ticket for my relative using my card. Invoice clarly shows my name/email as "Customer Name" and my relative name as "Guest Name". Am I being considered a violator of card agreement?

No . ,

Here's my question to our resident legal experts: Clearly, the actions of Axis Bank to unilaterally withhold earned reward points and deny redemption opportunities to accountholders infringe upon the basic consumer rights and constitute an unfair trade practice. With this in mind, if I drop an email to Axis Bank that I will not be settling the equivalent amount (1RP = ₹1) in my current bill and that their (auto) acknowledgement of my email constitutes their acceptance of my terms, how will this play out in the consumer court?

won't stand up in court.. as you cannot decide how to calculate value of rewards.. what will stand in court is a legal notice to axis stating malpractice and suspended card status.. but pls clear your dues.. courts take long and you will unnecessarily hurt your cibil which will be another fight with axis.. stop using axis.. get it to zero.. and fight!

I guess we will have tough time in explaining the RP and money relation to the court. By the time they understand this, one more devaluation.

Axis is fooling us in the name of Non-Personal Transactions.
Deep Down they are having difficult time giving those 5EM/100. That's why they are asking for invoices for even Rs 900 transactions which fetched 5EM.

I too received notice for both of my Atlas CC and they have specifically asked for invoices of Cred and Jet Privilege transactions.
Non-Personal transactions par hi attack karna hota toh aur bhi kafi trxns jin par shak kiya ja skta hai like I spent around 80k on irctc tickets in a month, several 5k trxns on HPPay, Giverly trxns, several jewelry trxns ... Guess they are ok with that...

overall out of around 17 lakhs spent on two cards, they need invoices for approx. 1.5 lakh worth of transactions.

It was never about personal, nonpersonal spends, bas 5EM dene me f@t gyi Axis ki..
