Axis Bank sending notice for clarification regarding customer's travel spends on atlas

Axis Bank today sent notices to many of its Atlas credit card customers requesting clarification and invoices regarding their "travel category spends". Axis Atlas is a travel-focused credit card, so it's surprising that the bank is asking for invoices and clarification for travel category expenses over the past few months. A few days ago, Axis Bank deducted Edge Miles and Edge Reward Points from some customers' reward accounts, citing business transactions. Now, they are requesting clarification on affected customers' travel spends within the next 30 days, otherwise, the bank will cancel their credit cards.

Here, I'm attaching a copy of the notice email:

Many genuine Atlas customers have been affected by this move. Some people just spent under 10k on travel categories and received clarification notices. I can understand Axis's desire to eliminate abusers from their customer list, but troubling genuine customers is unacceptable. This is the main reason I didn't add the Axis Magnus Burgundy credit card/Axis Magnus credit card to our list of the best credit cards for 2024. While it may offer good rewards, it's not reliable at all. Axis should revert to their old credit card reward system as they are not capable of running a reward system with airmiles transfer partners.
For peace of mind, stay away from Axis Bank credit cards.
 
Hope Axis resolves this unnecessary drama and smoothen their process. I have recently applied for Atlas and got approved, watching this thread.
 
I had emailed PNO, Premium Experience and also submitted documents through their link. All personal spends, but maybe equalling 10L+ in 5 months.

I have already received 3 emails stating they are still working on the case and be patient. It's really making me angry - I don't think I will be able to trust Axis with anything after this. I currently have Magnus, Vistara and Atlas. Was going to cancel Magnus and Vistara anyway, now looks like I may be cancelling all 3 and washing my hands off Axis completely!

Really the shadiest bank in the world! HDFC and ICICI look like conservative saints compared to Axis.

Same situation. Had emailed them 23 pages of invoices after spoiling my 2 days collecting invoices from 3 countries. Some duffer attended my case after submitting on link. On first line he said "we acknowledge receiving your documents" and in second paragraph he says I have to submit invoices/evidence of below vendors (and same list of vendors is pasted again). God knows what to do.

Keep sending them all the invoices until you get the below reply from them :

“Therefore, we have already created an interaction internal regarding edge reward account and the same will be processed in 05 working days.”

DOnt blame them, they are just fresh BA, BCOM graduate with some so . so English .. Its quite unfortunate..
 
I had sent all the files on Tuesday and Wednesday and received the internal interaction message with 05 day wait time on Thursday.
 
I had a function in Novotel for which i made many guests (family members, in-laws) stay in the hotel and banquet was booked etc., and for that I had paid using Atlas. I hope this comes under personal use if the "bill to" name is mine?

As long as all the invoices/bill are in your name, I guess you’re fine. Don’t know how they’ll verify if it was a personal/business function.

Basically it is a shameless bank in ill treating it's customers..pathetic is a very light word to describe these guys
Believe me when I say, I have a mini training workshop for their employees when I visit the branch. They are so clueless, I wonder what skills they look for when enrolling them, whether Demat or saving account related. Worst is when equity is involved.
 
I also got same reply just now. Don't know what they mean
this is just acknowledgment that they received the invoices. As a next step, they have shared the documents to respective department for verification of invoices which will take 5 working days. And decision will be made post verification.
