Axis Magnus Meet and Greet Experience Review

Allow me to share with you my review of the Axis Bank Magnus Meet and Greet Service.

Recently, I had the pleasure of flying from Bangalore to Delhi using Vistara Business Class, thanks to a complementary ticket I received via my Axis Bank VI card. As I had a significant amount of luggage with me - five pieces totaling approximately 60 kg in weight - I opted to utilize the Meet and Greet Service, which provides a porter at both airports.

Here's a timeline of events:

Flight Date and Time: April 28th, 7:40 PM
April 25th: Booked Meet and Greet service for both Delhi and Bangalore airports.

April 26th: Called the Axis Bank concierge to confirm my booking. I was informed that my request was still being processed, and I would receive confirmation no sooner than 24 hours before departure.

April 27th, 10 PM: Contacted the concierge once again for an update. They confirmed that the service had been confirmed for Delhi, but not yet for Bangalore. They assured me that it would be done by midnight and I would receive details by morning.

April 28th, 8 AM: Followed up with the concierge, who promised to call me back within the hour with more information.

April 28th, 11 AM: Still no call, no confirmation, and feeling increasingly anxious about my luggage. I contacted the concierge once again and was assured that I would receive a callback within the hour.

April 28th, 1 PM: Still no response, and my anxiety levels were rising. I called the concierge again, and they informed me that they were waiting for a response from the vendor. Again, I was promised a callback.

April 28th, 4 PM: I was frustrated and upset, having received no confirmation or callback. I decided to book a cab and head to the airport. Sadly, due to the concierge's lack of communication, I would be forced to handle my luggage on my own.

April 28th, 5 PM: While en route to the airport, I received a call from the Meet and Greet Service Provider at the Bangalore airport, informing me that they were waiting for me and asking about my ETA and cab number. This was a pleasant surprise after the ordeal with the concierge.

April 28th, 6 PM: Upon arrival, I was greeted by three individuals who located my cab and swiftly took charge of my luggage. Within five minutes, I was comfortably seated in the lounge.

April 28th, 11 PM: Upon arrival in Delhi, I received a WhatsApp message from the Meet and Greet Provider informing me that they would be waiting for me at the aerobridge, holding a placard with my name on it. They were waiting for me at the exit gate and quickly collected my luggage from the conveyor belt, escorting me to the pickup point.

Overall, my experience with the Meet and Greet Service Provider was fantastic. However, the lack of communication and partnership between Axis Bank Concierge and the Meet and Greet Service Vendor was incredibly frustrating, causing a great deal of anxiety and hassle. I hope that Axis Bank can improve their processes in this regard, ensuring a smoother experience for their customers.
 
Here's my update on using airport transfer and meet and greet. Used twice - departing DEL and arriving in DEL in the last few weeks.

In both cases put in the request on the extraordinary website about 1 week before my flights. Sent a email to them 2 days before each flight to remind them of my booking. I got SMS, WA & email confirmations from them about 8-10 hours before each flight for both services. Everything went over smoothly without a hitch.

Transfer services both times provided by ECO Rent A Car. DEL meet & greet obviously through Encalm.

Departure notes:
  • 3 passengers - they sent a Mercedes Viano. Which was smart because our luggage wouldn't have fit in a sedan. Car arrived 20-30 minutes before my requested time. Driver and service was great. Water bottles in the car.
  • Encalm coordinated with me before and while I was on the way to the airport. There was huge Haj traffic at the gates. They asked me to initially meet them at gate 7, then because of the large number of pilgrims asked me to meet them at gate 8 instead. Took me in through the crew/staff gate to the right of gate 8 where there was no traffic. Was traveling in J so no question of bumping me up at check-in or security or immigration.
  • Porter carried bags to check-in only. Had to carry my own hand bags to the lounge - escorted by Encalm lady. Visited Encalm first and then the AI lounge. Was deeply disappointed by Encalm. I've been disappointed with AI's DEL lounge for years now.
  • Different porter collected us from the lounge - again well coordinated with SMS information and calls.
  • Buggy service to airport gate
Arrival notes:
  • 2 passengers. Encalm lady with sign board after the jet bridge. Only escorted to immigration. J immigration was crowded. Walked us to the end of the hall where the immigration agents were sitting idle having a chat with each other. Porter collected my handbags after I was through immigration.
  • I gave them my bag tags and went to duty free. Before I could finish my duty free they had already collected my check-in luggage and were waiting for me. They took me to the car park carrying all my luggage. Driver had already coordinated with me while I was in the airport.
  • At duty free - the lady escorting us applied her "Encalm discount" giving me a further 10% off on my purchases
  • Interestingly enough while leaving the customs hall. While everyone was going through the hand bag scan, our escort opened a barrier at the side and led us through it. Then she went to the customs officers and told them them that we were going through and we didn't have to scan our bags! I wish I was carrying a few kgs of gold in my handbags! 🙁
  • This time I got a "upgrade" to a BMW 7 Series. Nice clean interiors (but not sparkling as I would expect a 7 series to be). Water, diet coke and lays chips provided in the car.
  • Don't know what was in the boot my two large suitcases didn't fit there. So one large suitcase had to be put in the front seat.
  • Driver was super polished and helpful all through
Overall the coordination from 8 (or whatever) hours to departure/arrival - I can't complain about. While I could see my "requests" on the portal - I wish they would have sent me an email reminder/alert 2-3 days before my journey acknowledging my booking. That would have made things a little more stress free.

Otherwise great service, well coordinated. Great experience.
 
Rules are made to be broken it is only there in the books
I can make a booking of meet and greet and add my parent as a guest and upload there ticket as concierge only wants the tickets airport transfer doesn’t
 
I have just 1 booking left out of 8 and i applied it for myself. Now my wife saying you go normal and i will use meet greet 🙁

Cant they allow meet greet for wife without booking. Or she saying you will also go normally with me.
Totally understand your situation! Maybe time to get another Magnus for wife? That's what i have done, even got her a Reserve!.. I'm wondering someday when all these benefits go away or get devalued and everyone's families are so used to the VIP experience at airports how will they get back to using the normal way again! Axis has really spoiled us in that way!😅

The wife will make you pay for it . Lifestyle inflation

Got the joining bonus 50000ER during the vistara transfer fest.. so 50000ER=40000cv points +12000 bonus cv points, totally got 52000cv points.
With the 2 nights stayplus with accor, airport transfers and extra meet and greets, i feel we definitely recovered our fees to say the least. The 2x on foreign spends was the cherry on the cake!
 
Another M&G in DEL T3 domestic arrivals. Again everything went of fine. No buggy this time... just a short walk to the baggage belt. Bags picked up by the porter before I could return from a quick pitstop. Walked over to the parking garage.

I wonder how much a service like this would cost. I certainly wouldn't ever pay for it for myself, but I have an excessive number of M&Gs that I'm trying to burn through.
