Axis Secured - Path to Unsecured? Timeline & Closure Queries

Hey folks,

Looking for some insights regarding Axis Bank credit cards.

I got an Axis Bank MyZone secured credit card about 2 months ago. My main motivation was a specific Axis offer running at the time, but unfortunately, the offer expired before the card actually reached me.

Here's my situation:
  • Card: Axis MyZone Secured (2 months old)
  • Security: Against a ₹20,000 Fixed Deposit.
  • Limit: ₹16,000 (80% of FD).
  • Spending: Very low, only about ₹3,000 total over the last 2 months. (Spent 1.6L on other cards). I don't have a significant need for this specific card beyond catching occasional Axis offers.
  • Banking Relationship: I also have an Axis Liberty Savings Account, maintaining around ₹32K MAB. I got this account for pre-approved offers, but got a secured card before any. Not many txns nowadays.
  • Previous Attempt: I had applied for the Axis Ace card about 7 months ago (before getting the secured card) but was rejected instantly.
I've read on this sub and elsewhere that having a secured card or a good banking relationship with Axis can eventually lead to pre-approved offers or eligibility for their unsecured cards.

My questions are:
  1. Timeline for Unsecured/Pre-Approved Offers: Is there a general timeline or pattern observed by others here? How long does Axis usually take (e.g., 6 months, a year of good usage/relationship) before considering secured cardholders or savings account holders for unsecured cards (like Ace, Flipkart, Select etc.)? Does my Liberty account MAB help significantly here?
  2. Closing Secured Card: If I do get approved for an unsecured Axis credit card in the future, would I have to close this MyZone secured card? Or can I keep both simultaneously (maybe keep the secured one LTF if possible, just for the credit history)?
Appreciate any insights, experiences, or advice the community can share! Thanks in advance.
I'm a student. But I'm self-employed on my CIBIL.

Same I applied for myzone credit card and while doing physical kyc, agent request me to open the libarty account, I did the same, but few days later my credit card request got rejected.
May be the cooling period was not over for my 2nd application. Before I I had applied for flipkart axis and it was rejected.

Few weeks later got a call from branch and asked me to take the FD card and somehow I took the card with 15k fd and 12k limit. He told me to continue the card atleast for 3 months.

So I'm going to complete the 3 months, then I will call the care and ask them for another card upgrade, I saw few people got unsecured card over call, so if I receive the card then good, otherwise I will request them to close my card.
But after closing the card I'm going to continue the FD for one more month. Then I will close the FD also.
And I'm going to wait for pre-approved offers. If I will not receive any offer, I will apply a fresh application before the flipkart big billion days, and if I got rejected then next application on March 26, next year.

Also I recieved a pre-approved loan offer (may be pre-approved offer, I'm not sure) on my account, I opened my account in January,

Seems, After reading yours and someone else too, I posted the query -
He just needed it as LTF for Amz FK sales only

I opened Liberty and MyZone one week apart in Feb. Liberty was supposed to be my primary account for txn volume, but since I got the Secured card, I haven't used the SA for many txns. MyZone has very few txns.

For me from January my transaction is nearly 3 lakhs, but after that stopped using the account. I'm feeling that axis is totally waste.
I got sbi, indusind card same day approval without verification and income proof within 2 days gap.
I'm loosing my interest on axis now, but still I will try to get a ltf core card

Why not simply first try calling Axis CC and asking for unsecured Neo LTF offer.
Ask them to send the SMS (they might be ignorant so try with another).
If they can send the Neo LTF offer (you can ask them for network as well), get it.

Its No without trying as well, so wait for the pre-approved offers if denied.
Sometimes its fine to ask rather wait for offers.

And yes, you can keep secured and unsecured both if you like.

Yes I will try after completing the 3 months cooling period.

Cooling period from what? From new credit card?

Axis have been known to issue 3 credit cards in a single day (though those are unsecured, but nothing wrong in trying with existing secured as well)
Already tried few times, everyone told me the same that we can not avail 2 cards without serving the cooling period of 3 months

Everyone here told you or Axis customer care told you?

Maybe you are misunderstanding applying with asking for offers.

What I am saying is that you can call customer care to check if there is any offer for you or not.
If you directly apply via online, this is not what I am suggesting rather to call and check for offer.

Customer care told me, they agreed that this is possible but they are not getting the option so they told me to wait for 3 months
