In the world of personal finance, many people are always looking for ways to manage their money better and get the most out of their spending. One popular strategy that's gaining traction is using debit cards to pay off credit card bills. This allows you to earn cashback on expenses that wouldn't normally earn rewards. In this article, we'll explore this concept and look at some of the best debit card options for paying off credit card bills.

Understanding the Strategy

Typically, credit card bills are paid using money from a bank account, either automatically or by manual transfer. While these payments don't usually earn rewards, some banks offer cashback incentives for using their debit cards to pay bills. By strategically using a debit card for credit card payments, you can earn cashback on expenses that wouldn't otherwise earn rewards.

Choosing the Right Debit Card

When choosing a debit card for paying credit card bills, there are a few things to consider:
  1. Cashback Percentage: Look for a debit card that offers a good cashback percentage on bill payments.
  2. Debit Card Fees: Consider any fees associated with the debit card, such as monthly fees or transaction fees.
  3. Account Requirements: Make sure you meet any requirements to qualify for the debit card you're interested in.

Is SBI Unipay site down or is it something else.. when I trying to access the website some sort of stupid file is getting downloaded automatically.

Lagta hai Credit Card bill payments pe Debit card rewards earn karne k "Endgame" ho gaya.

First, Mobikwik changed mcc and stopped debit card reward.
After that,HDFC declared they will not give rewards on credit card payments.
Then, Paytm imposed hefty convenience fee.
Now, Jio Finance has removed debit card option.
I think, only option left is SBI upipay and Canara setu.
Yeh bhi kitne din tak chalenge pata nahi.

Jald hi , bas UPI hi bachega credit card bill payments karne k liye.

For someone who has fully utilized his IDFC Normal Debit card (1.6L spends) & then upgraded to Select / Wealth in the same month...will start earning 10X points from 1st spend on their Select / Wealth DC + Welcome Rewards points.
For e.g., in my case, earning are below:

A) For 1.4L spends on Normal DC, I received - 8k points (incl. 2k Welcome points)
B) For 2.6L spends on Select DC, I received - 30k points (incl. 8k Welcome points)

So total spends: 4L, Reward Points: 38k, Returns ~ 2.38%

So it's advisable to plan for upgrade in mid-month to get max benefit !!

Correct me if I'm wrong..
I currently have an IDFC Select account and have been maintaining a ₹10 lakh AMB (Average Monthly Balance) for over a month. I requested an upgrade through the virtual RM, but she declined as I haven't maintained ₹10 lakh AMB for 3 months. Instead, she asked me to make an investment so she can get approval from the RM for the Wealth upgrade. I asked her to process the upgrade first, and I would make the investment after the upgrade (bluff, though). Trusting my word, she has placed the upgrade request. My question is: If my account gets upgraded to Wealth, can she downgrade it later (since I have no plans to make the investment)? If so, how soon can she downgrade it, and will my Wealth Debit Card also be downgraded?

Also, I have completed ₹3.4 lakh in spends (30,000 reward points) on the Select Debit Card this month (though the reward points haven't been credited yet... Has anyone received their points for this month?). Once the Wealth upgrade is done, will I still receive the 30,000 reward points for my Select Debit Card purchases even after the upgrade? Additionally, if I use the Wealth Debit Card, will I be eligible for up to 50,000 reward points for this month, including the Welcome Benefit, or do I have to wait until next month? If I get the points, will I start earning 10X points from my first spend on the Wealth Debit Card, or only after ₹50,000 in spends?
