How would you rate payzapp in comparison to Gpay/phonepe?
I just used payzapp to make my 1st payment and interface was awesome.
What is ur review of the same?

Moreover, besides the features themselves in any UPI App, it's efficacy depends also on the connectivity in your locality where you use the App.

For example, here in Tirupati ALL Apps works excellently - thanks to excellent 5G coverage. Whereas the same Apps works - on a good to so-so basis, because the part where we live (in Hyderabad - a Capital city), the 5G is not upto the mark.

Not that those same Apps are bad, the ecosystem in which we use them make them good or bad or excellent.

Judge them from this angle also.

I would not just judge them as UPI apps. Nowadays almost all apps are Utility apps.
You can get almost everything done using these apps - whether it is utility bill payments, credit card bill payments, insurance, travel (air/bus/train) ticket booking, movie booking, buy any kind of insurance, make UPI payments, online purchase, invest in stocks and mutual funds, play games and a lot more.
Most of them are super apps - whether it be Amazon, Flipkart, PayTM, PhonePe, or Tata Neu.
More and more functionalities are being built into them day by day. And soon with AI, we can see data analytics playing its game big time.

Thats why I prefer to use supermoney & slice. Simple UPI with no added"extras"

One more contender is a lesser known app called fave by pine labs. It's also a no nonsense app and does the work pretty good as slice. So for me it's Slice~Fave and Phonepe.

Payzap was quite good until very recently. You are coming in too late now. Party is almost getting over by this month end

Payzap wallet load was free earlier. It was good for RG rental bill payment. Also good for BoB card holders who got 4.75% reward rate on scan and pay offline transactions.

Then they had wallet UPI since last 2-3 months, which is working good as of now, but only till Jan 6th and BoB eterna devaluation.

From Jan onwards, there is no much use of Payzap. Apay wallet is better

Another place where I am late - wallets. I haven't used wallet load before. I haven't tried them at all earlier.
So here is how I used to make payments in shops and other places -
I used to just swipe credit cards. Later when Rupay on CC came, I started using Rupay cards to swipe.
But all this time, I had never thought of wallets.

Just now I came to know that we can load some amount in these wallets (like Amazon, PayZapp) and use that to scan QR codes and pay.
Now that I am entering late, I am still trying to figure out which wallet to use and which (debit or credit) card to use to load these wallets.

@Anupama_Jha Thanks a lot. I am already full KYC user on Amazon and Payzapp wallet. I think I will be also using these two.

In Amazon app, I see options to add money via debit card.

But in Payzapp I am not seeing add money via debit card. It only shows UPI and credit card. ( I am very new to payzapp, I need to explore)

I think these 2 apps are good to use wallet. Some banks give cashbacks or reward points for using debit cards. I am yet to explore that as well.

I may not need credit card to add money to wallet. Just a debit card is good enough.

(Basic need is - I don't want to clutter bank statement with lot of petty transactions, cashbacks and additional benefits are cherry on the cake.)

My Experience with eWallets and UPI for Payments:

With the interoperability of eWallets and UPI, I’ve shifted most of my P2M (person-to-merchant) payments to eWallet UPI. It allows pinless payments without restrictions, provided I stay under the ₹2,000 limit per transaction to avoid MDR charges. For transactions beyond ₹2,000, I prefer credit cards. For P2P (person-to-person) transfers, I rely on the bank UPI features offered by the same apps.

Here’s my experience with different apps based on these criteria:

1. PhonePe
Pros: Reliable app with customizable VPAs (virtual payment addresses).
Cons: Fingerprint authentication is slow, and I dislike the purple UI. Also, it binds one VPA to one bank account, making transaction tracking cumbersome.
Use Case: Limited to P2M offers.

2. Google Pay (GPay)
Pros: Clean and uncluttered UI, easy to use.
Cons: VPAs aren’t customizable, and there’s one-to-one VPA binding. It doesn’t offer a wallet feature beyond UPI Lite, which has limitations.
Use Case: Not using this app anymore.

3. Paytm
Pros: A feature-rich "super app" with many services. Previously allowed customizable VPAs and offers one-to-many VPA binding, which I find useful.
Cons: VPAs are no longer customizable, and the app is cluttered and complex for some users. Wallets are frozen due to regulatory issues, though this may change in the future.
Use Case: Primary app for P2P payments.

4. Amazon Pay
Pros: Fully functional wallet UPI with one-to-many VPA binding.
Cons: VPAs are only partially customizable, and transaction history is poorly organized.
Use Case: Primarily for P2M payments via wallet.

5. MobiKwik
Pros: Fully featured wallet UPI with one-to-many VPA binding.
Cons: VPAs aren’t customizable.
Use Case: Mainly for offers.

6. PayZapp
Pros: Best UI among all apps. Supports one-to-many VPA binding.
Cons: VPAs aren’t customizable, and wallet UPI only works for merchant QR codes.
Use Case: Offers.

7. Freecharge
Cons: Full KYC isn’t available yet, so I haven’t been able to test it properly.

Have not tested Airtel/Jio/Whatsapp Pay. Gpay comed pre-installed on all new devices and Whatsapp is very popular so older generation may find some use of it.

Conclusion:
For P2M payments, I lean towards Amazon Pay, while Paytm remains my go-to for P2P payments. Each app has its strengths and weaknesses, so my choices depend on the use case and available offers.

Take your pick!

Guys, you can try super.money by Flipkart and Navi app. I have used all the top UPI apps currently available in the market, these two are my current favourites because of clean UI and awesome cashbacks.

These cashbacks are from last 3-4 months. I am not a heavy spender by any means . Just normal day to day transactions.

Just use Rupay credit cards for double dips.
