I did 3 transactions of 100 Rs. and 8 transactions of Rs 200/-. Here are the details
Got instant 100/- cashback in one of the bank accounts linked to BHIM.
1st and 2nd transaction went smoothly, and got immediate cashback.
for whatever reason in the third transaction while it was processing cashback, my screen dimmed because of my android display timeout setting and i got logged out of the app, and the cashback didnt process.
The 4th transaction i did of 200 Rs and it went through smoothly and i got 100/- cashback.

then i used an app that prevents my screen from sleeping and the next 5 transactions of Rs 200/- each went through smoothly and processed Rs 30/- cashback each. i tried one more transaction just to see if there was some bug and may be i could get some more cashback. lol. didnt get any cash back.
Beyond that i tried one more transaction of Rs 200/- using a different credit card, but again no cashback.

So all in all, the cashback ( 3x100/5x30) is on transactions on BHIM, and does not get reset on different credit cards ( as i was hoping. ) It all went through smoothly with zero hiccups. except for the third transaction.

Edit: i guess i should also mention that i scanned the Merchant UPI QR using my bhim app. Just in case if its relevant.

Which merchant QR? PhonePe? Paytm? GPay?
 
What documents are required to open a merchant account in paytm/phonepe for a relative. Do we get option to select mcc or category (dining, grocery etc) while opening business account? Is the process complicated?

Tried this at many merchants today. One grocery shop didn't have credit card payment turned on. On other one paid 160 but didn't get the cashback. Then tried an eatery And still didn't get the cashback.

At last found a waffle shop where it was working. Made 5 payments of 100 and 500 back. 3 payments by my brother and 2 by me.
Got waffles and shake for free basically lol.

Recently I have started seeing many local shops not having the option to pay via UPI CC. This week only I tried paying 2 cloth places for transactions > 5000 but UPI CC was not available. A couple of week ago, one of my friend mentioned that even in IHCL, if you select UPI and make payment using Rupay CC - it was failing for him.

Yes. Many vendors have disabled it and we don't get to know about it untill the payment fails.
But sometimes when one app is failing to pay via CC, another app will work. I tried paying via Paytm and it failed but worked on Gpay. So can't be sure untill you try 2-3 times and it's frustrating and time consuming
