Visited an hdfc branch in Bangalore and they straight away told its for self employed.
did you ask for a floater? coz on basis on floater, employment status shud never be asked..

I did ask for floater. OK I will try some other branch. BTW can't it be applied online or any other way?

99.99% of the whole world does not have this card
try another branch, just meet cc dept and directly ask them for card thru floater route.. tell them to atleast check ur current card limit thru customer id.. most of them say no coz for New to Bank customers Self Employed is the only route..
Do you mean to say HDFC has issued 8,20,000 BizBlack cards? 😛

If they are offering BizPower currently, take it for now (if that's OK with you; not a bad card per se); and request an upgrade in 3-4 months. My friend was suggested by branch official this option.
No guarantee for upgrade, but at least it opens door. Go thru this hassle, only if you really need BizBlack.

It was branch manager in my case (up in North India), so I highly doubt it. But will definitely ask and confirm.
I checked with a branch official, couldn't get hold of BM. He told not possible to apply on behalf of someone from other city, that too a Tier 1 where HDFC may be having multiple branches.
As I understand, its possible to apply for Biz Power online. Try that, if you wish to go with this option.
