Can I close one of the DC before 1 year and I will not receive charges for that DC??
I went to open Bob super saver account on Monday, they told bank account can open only on Tuesday and Friday( branch in Noida sec18), I was taken aback, the pvt banks will come to your home for opening an account, but psu banks simply don't care. So, will try next week, let's see what happens.

Yaa what is surprising this is happening in big city and famous area of noida, god knows what would happen in small areas, the excuse apparently given was staff shortage.
Actually small areas branches are good. They care because of less crowd

SBI is costlier than private banks.
Charges for SMS alerts, debit card, etc.,
Locker is costly.
You won't get IMPS.
Other PSU banks all are free for some account variants.

Debit Card charges were cheapest till last revision, even then its much worth.

There are no charges for most services in SBI. RTGS, NEFT, IMPS all are free, and even SMS alerts are free.
If you have a salary account, your debit card is also free. For a regular savings account, there is only a charge for the debit card.
Also, there is no requirement to maintain a minimum average either, and SBI offers a better DC reward system compared to other PSU banks, sometimes it even beats HDFC platinum.
As for lockers, I’m not sure, but that’s the case with most banks.

For lockers SBI asks 50,000 FD and 2000 yearly fees for small locker.
Other PSUs, only 10,000 FD and 1200 yearly fees.
