The new Axis Bank credit cards look good if we consider their benefits. However, in terms of rewards, even the Axis Olympus card has many exclusions. Despite this, it is still a good card for international spending. In terms of reliability, Axis Bank doesn't come close to Citibank. This is the main reason almost all Citibank customers were very unhappy with the Citibank and Axis Bank deal earlier last year. Unfortunately, we cannot do anything but accept this migration. If you don't want to continue with your Citibank cards, you can close them; you will not be charged any renewal or migration fees at this time. Renewal fees will be levied at the usual time of your card renewal. The Citi PremierMiles and Citi Prestige cards were some of the best and most reliable for accumulating air miles. Personally, I will never rely on Axis Bank, as they can send you notices and ask for transaction clarifications from the past year, even for very small amounts.

This is the end of an era.

No actually they will be losing a lot, because right now there are people using Rewards card to pay income tax! Kuch bhi

Haha.. lol.. man but honestly this reward card has no other use. No cc gives anything on paying tax and I needed to reach 30k milestone in 3 months (Sept is renewal). Also rewards gives 1500 ER on 30k months spends (govt transaction included) . And if I can pay this bill using HDFC debit I get 1% back. So net net my gateway fee gets covered completely, I meet annual milestone waiver and get 1500 ER.

Note: I would have closed this before the migration, but since they were adding the limits I kept it. I also had some 17k points in Citi rewards and couldn't redeem in time so had to wait for the transfer. Got some 35k ER post transfer, hopefully il be able to use that at 5:4.

@SSV as per chat support they are saying it's 2 lakh per year :( hence charged what a stupid bank
🪓 is the most unethical, unprofessional , shameless BIG Bank I have ever seen ..
Hence I dont deal with them in the premium segement..

The reason why I closed my FK card was, in the middle of a year when I was planning my spends, they increase fee waiver spend criteria , I immediately closed the card ...

Didn't Axis say that those migrated will be on the original fees and limits that was given when the card was a Citi card??

On a another note, if I close my card now, what happens to the ER points that I have? Do I need to move them out?

Correct 💯 but only till the first renewal fee date. (not forever).
After that date, the Axis Rewards cc terms will apply, because renewal will be as an Axis rewards card, not a Citibank card.

You shouldn't close your card with edge points going to waste. Move them out now

I Just checked the email.. it says "annual fee remains the same and you can continue to enjoy your existing spend based fee waiver.."

If they are considering the new spend based fee waiver then what does this mean??

It remains the same until you renew it as an Axis card.
Obviously you cannot renew it as a Citibank card, they know that

Rewards is such a wasted card. When the card was with Citi itself it was such a hassle getting 10x points on department stores as mcc codes were not updated correctly and Citi had no clue. But since it was 30k for fee waiver it was ok. How does Axis justify 2L as spend waiver for this card..

Has anyone else been charged renewal fee for Reward card post the migration or is this the first case posted?

What it means is:
We are taking over CITI business and honor CITI's commitment onlt FOR 1st year only..
afterwards, if you like our 🪓 terms, you can continue otherwise F**K off....

is this honouring CITI's customers commitment.. CITI customers can decide...

Then they don't need to mention that line.. they could have just said that from next renewal your fees will be per Axis rewards card. By saying that you can continue to enjoy the card with no change and not giving a specific deadline means the old fee condition are still ongoing for renewal.
