The new Axis Bank credit cards look good if we consider their benefits. However, in terms of rewards, even the Axis Olympus card has many exclusions. Despite this, it is still a good card for international spending. In terms of reliability, Axis Bank doesn't come close to Citibank. This is the main reason almost all Citibank customers were very unhappy with the Citibank and Axis Bank deal earlier last year. Unfortunately, we cannot do anything but accept this migration. If you don't want to continue with your Citibank cards, you can close them; you will not be charged any renewal or migration fees at this time. Renewal fees will be levied at the usual time of your card renewal. The Citi PremierMiles and Citi Prestige cards were some of the best and most reliable for accumulating air miles. Personally, I will never rely on Axis Bank, as they can send you notices and ask for transaction clarifications from the past year, even for very small amounts.

This is the end of an era.

While announcing that was in May 2021, that was COVID 2nd wave which peaked and this happened. Even nature was not accepting this deal :ROFLMAO:
Yes.. really if CITI was acquired by even a half decent player atleast half the erstwhile CITI holders would have continued with them...
but for those half decent players it was too costly for them and hence they didn't bid for it..

If you consider ITC case instead of Taj, ITC gives more value than Taj.

- Last time I stayed in ITC Grand Chola on member rate as I am ITC Club Culiniare member, while checking out I paid using ITC Voucher. Room upgrade was also there. All in all that was sweet deal.
Problem is you cannot use 10000 voucher for meals, it has to be for room only.
And you will not get a room night for less than 25000.

Even if you do, what is the point of saying only one night in a hotel on a holiday?
You will have to pay extra for the second, third, fourth night. That is the whole rationale of giving a 10000 voucher, it helps to promote more business for the hotel.

But there is 3% GST on any gold purchase, along with making charges, melting charges and jewellers profit margin.
you will definitely lose money in buying and selling gold, (not considering future inflation in price of gold)

That is why there are no takers for the AU credit card offer of 25000 or 4.16% return on 6 lakhs spend on gold and gold jewellery.
If you are buying Gold coins just as an investment that's fine because these days Online rates and offline rates are getting matched or diff with 2-3%. That price negotiation can be done with offline retailers like trusted ones in the town not the large chains.

Unless its a business trip
ITC Chola / ITC Kohenur / ITC Kakatiya I get member rate in 9000 + Taxes approx on some days which I pick. I usually get room upgraded in Chola and Kohenur. Later on I use 1+1 buffet with Infinia or use 3000 ED voucher with my Indulge card.

My indusind relationship manager refused to give Indulge card for less than 45000 joining fee, (Pinnacle for 5000), even though we have 25 lakh fixed deposit

because he knows that you are a big spender and can play tough game with you so that he reaches his target..
They are sales people, they know how to play games according to customer's profile..

I think Axis got ripped off and Citibank went laughing all the way to the bank

In ITC Green points are worth more than a rupee.

so your 2500 miles they give brings in more value. ITC considers loyalty very well in my experience. with Marriott Bonvoy Gold, ITC Luxury collection can be accessed too.

I took it on 50K+ Taxes with 2N Oberoi stay vouchers. That was worth approximately 1.3-1.5L staying at Oberoi Vanyavilas. You can see my review and experience at Oberoi Vanyavilas.

Don't forget the taxes and fees which will make it much more expensive than 9100

What it means is:
We are taking over CITI business and honor CITI's commitment onlt FOR 1st year only..
afterwards, if you like our 🪓 terms, you can continue otherwise F**K off....

is this honouring CITI's customers commitment.. CITI customers can decide...
Hopefully, they won't change the definition of "Life Time Free" from 2nd year for LTF cards.

Yes .. hopefully is the keyword here... ;)
and in my experience all this documentation is not useful..
they can preapare a brand new docs in hte next 6 months reflecting the real 🪓 behaviour..
and they say the new docs supercede the old docs..

thats its then custoerms enjoy the 🪓's FASAK moments then..;)

Unforetuantely, that is the kind of reputation 🪓 is earning these days.. Not sure why they are doing this.. TRUST and Reliability are very core in any business.
