I have tried to post this topic on various threads without much response and Seldom see posts from other users asking similar question. While not useful to many, Education fees goes into lacs for many and is a big expense.

In my case, the fees is collected via an App called Eduqfix. The School doesn't accept fees except cheque. Eduqfix charges certain fees for using a credit card. Also, many cards do not get cashback/ Points for paying school fees as per MCC code.

I was considering getting something like a Kotak IOCL Rupay or Tata neu infinity credit card to make UPI payment for school fees.

What are the thoughts of other card holders?

So in June 2024 I made 2.1 L payment for my kids annual fees and got the RP.

-If the Institute has a POS machine and if you in the same region, then go and swipe, that's the easiest way.
-If they have a payment portal where you can enter your CC and do the payment, that is also fine.
In my case, I wanted to use DCB (Did not have Infinia at that time) and the portal was accepting only visa and master, hence I called up the school and asked whether they have a POS (luckily they had). And I directly paid at school.

Amazon ICICI Bank Credit Card & Standard Chartered Smart Credit Card both give 1% CB for Offline School Fees Payment.
1. Kiwi Rupay Credit Card - 2% to 5% Cashback on UPI Payments: https://gokiwi.onelink.me/ENmK/KIWIOHE80S
2. SBI Cashback Credit Card - 5% Cashback on all Online Transactions: https://www.sbicard.com/invite/jaqt7b310gm & Code: jaqt7b310gm
Nopes. SBI cashback does not give reward points for education fees payment even though it is online

I think Kiwi rupay also does not give reward points for Education

Has anyone paid school fees using Easebuzz gateway? Does it accept Diners or Amex cards? I was paying using HDFC Regalia earlier now upgrading card to DCB so was wondering if can still pay using HDFC Cards. Axis Atlas does give miles for education.

I have a monthly educational payment of 11000. Doing it on the school app. Was using HDFC Millenia. All worked fine till June, then HDFC started charging 1 percent charges. Interestingly its an HDFC gateway, and the school app... Wrote to HDFC CC all the way to the PNO, but the usual templett useless responses.
I have IDFC Select. Is that a good option? Don't want to use the Neu Infinity because HDFC can be nonsensical again. Will Axis Supermoney give 3 percent on UPI? Any additional charges for them? SBI Simplyclick? The gateway isn't accepting Amex...

Axis gives 0️⃣ for edu spends.

We can't do anything about charges. The best option right now for you is hdfc TNI assuming you are not into the race of 1L quarterly spend on HDFC Millenia .

I don't go proactively for the Millenia milestone benefit. Takes it if it works out. Started using Millenia for school fee payment keeping the possibility in mind. But HDFC is messing things up.
Interestingly for the charges. My PNB Rupay select, even when used directly and not on UPI mode, is giving reward points and charging nothing extra. Does IDFC First have any education fee payment charges?

There should not be bank charges for direct payment on school website HDFC or Axis. It seems these might be payment gateway charges which depends on negotiation between school and their bank. Most schools refuse to bear any cost of credit card payments like other merchants so additional charges are there for payment by credit card. This is seperate from education fees paid through third party websites which are now penalised by all banks. E.g. my school previous gateway charged 1% for all credit cards and 2% for amex. Now new gateway they are using charges 2% only for amex and diner cards. Earlier I used to pay by HDFC cards since rewards plus milestone more than compensated cost. Now shifted to Axis Atlas as no cost on visa.
Axis Atlas does give miles on direct education fees payment. I am getting for last 2 quarters.
