DCB Diners Club Tools and Travel App - Priority pass Digital membership

TF Select
VIP Lounge
I have a DCB card. While logging in Diners Club Tools and Travel app in the personalized section, I am being redirected to priority pass account. If I enter my card details there will I be charged?

Diners Club FAQ is unclear, HDFC bank Customer Care says Priority pass is anyway not required. So just wanted to understand if I will be charged or not?

Oh that's great. Because I went to 080 Domestic Lounge in Bangalore T1 and they denied DC card back in November 2022.

Hopefully it has changed now.

Yes your comment makes sense. I was also worried because I saw some posts where DCB is not accepted in Tier-2 international airports. Not sure about the acceptability of PP there.

Some noob questions as this is my first credit card using lounge access 😀
I also had a similar experience twice last year in Oct and Dec in 080 lounge at BLR, but in my case, at the lounge reception counter they were struggling with the POS machine and then later informed me that it is not working, but recently in Feb it went through fine. They never said it is not accepted, they just pointed out that POS is not working with DCB so I had to use other cards.

Just wanted to confirm.. Since no official HDFC channels mention PP being included with DCB and at the end while mentioning card details in the digital PP card, it is mentioned it is subject to charges as per bank policy/something similar
What would be interesting to see is if the Diners PP is accepted at all the restaurants and lounges where Diners earlier wasn't. BOM Aviserve lounge is a god place to start.

Additionally are these establishments accepting the Diners card as it is, or just the PP.

When you apply for the PP through Diners you get the virtual card and it says "Unlimited Visits". But it doesn't have any of your prior DCB visits though. Would be interesting to see if a DCB access shows up in that travel history.

How many days has passed since you registered on PP and accessed the lounge? Usually it takes 90 days for charge to reflect
I went there in December and I have not been charged yet. The Diners App was showing the lounge in the list but I had the priority pass app open on the phone so I just got its barcode scanned.

I came here to update you all that while up to March I was able to view all the lounges in the priority pass app (my PP account is connected to my DCB card), since April I am not able to view Indian lounges in it. But there is no issue while accessing the lounge in India; I do it as I did earlier by handing over my card. So it looks like my Priority Pass is indeed connected to Diners Club card and they regularly update the list of lounges that can be accessed using it for free.

Can you please provide some steps on what to be done in the apps?
When you open the lounge section on the App, it will ask if you want to Register for the Airport Loung and Travel Program.
  1. Click on Register
  2. It will redirect you to the Priority Pass registration page within the app. Register on PP.
  3. After verification of the account, enter your DCB card details in the "Access lounge with bank card" (or similar) option.
  4. Once done, I think it took 2-3 days for it to activate.
  5. When you download and log in using the same credentials in the Priority Pass app, you'll see unlimited access under your account.
If anyone wants to, please try this and share your experience here.

Do we have a similar app in ios ?
I used the diners club app in ios but couldn’t find the menu to register for PP ?

So that means just like infinia , the digital PP that we get with DCB also gets unlimited domestic lounge ?

After doing this i was charged 83 to the card. Is it activation charges? Will there be other annual charges?

Probably a $1 authorization hold. It should be reversed.
Yes it wasn't there in the unbilled transactions.

Could you please confirm, whether we can use PP in Indian lounges also free of cost?

I am assuming foreign lounges where DCB isn't working, we could use the unlimited PP for lounge access.

@demigox also, if I have a guest, can I use DCB and then again use the QR code via PP to avoid guest charges?

Yahh, looks like it changed after the recent update. I see a different screen now. When I looked last week I saw those options.

I had registered on the app about 2 weeks back though, didn't see it 😕 Also, is your virtual pp still active?
I haven't registered for PP. However, when I open the lounge section after closing and re-opening the app the screen has two options showing up like register for PP just for one or two secs and then it's automatically redirecting to the above page.

I think I can click register for PP within that 2 secs and register. Shall I proceed to register? Please suggest. I just don't want to be in a situation where I use PP and I'm billed later
