DCB Diners Club Tools and Travel App - Priority pass Digital membership

I have a DCB card. While logging in Diners Club Tools and Travel app in the personalized section, I am being redirected to priority pass account. If I enter my card details there will I be charged?

Diners Club FAQ is unclear, HDFC bank Customer Care says Priority pass is anyway not required. So just wanted to understand if I will be charged or not?

Just one caveat (possibly) the TnCs we agreed did mention that every year the renewal charges will be charged to the card automatically unless specifically instructed not to in writting. So let's hope this feature isn't discontinued anytime in future else many of us will be writing these mails soon. Cheers!

Can they do that, if transactions are disabled? Also there was an autopay page I remember. Haven't used in a while. It used to list all autopay set, could remove it from there? Unless it's charged some other way

What does it mean exactly? From 2024 onwards there would be a PP renewal charge? How would we know if the feature is still present.

Or is it better to just cancel in writing and maybe do the same process again next year (to avoid auto renewal)
 
No idea friend. Just glanced through that para and this one point stuck out like a sore thumb. Not sure how they will charge.

This was mentioned in the FAQs, however HDFC customer care doesnt understand why PP is required with diners, so they conveniently avoid the question.

Use this 1 year old post for reference, I forgot the part where I had also used Mastercard as card type while registering (There is a different story about why this may work). This sets up your account while also setting up a payment method that will not work. So it will keep reminding you to update payment details.

There is additional reasons to believe that this programme is currently complimnetary and might remain so. There is information on the web that suggests that Collinson (parent of PP) also services the Diners club lounge access in US and other countries.

Personal disclaimer, I have recently joined this forum and even more recently moved to an Infinia card from DCB. So while I have used this method for the past 8 months and will possibly continue to use it till 12/23 the underlying card is now deactivated and I'm unlikely to get charged for it

Yes I have used it on domestic twice. Was not charged. Although on priority pass app you cant search Indian airports. But if they accept PP they will accept you digital membership QR code

So basically we are seeing some sort of intercompatibility with Collinson programs here. The quota remains as per your card but you get the digital membership card. I would still see that as a serious perk because QR code scans are convenient. No need to take out your card to swipe.

Most other bank cards offer physical priority pass which cannot be used digitally, I called up Priority pass to check for this wrt Infinia

In the above link, use payment card option to register your DCB card.

You only need Priority pass app after that for Digital Membership card
Basically Priority Pass (Collinson) is offering complimentary benefit to Diners Club US members on a yearly basis. I had it last year which was expiring in 12/22. Then they renewed the benefit for another year. I have used that priority pass in domestic and international

This is an advantage over Infinia, my Infinia priority pass is physical only and cannot be registered for digital membership card on app. But thankfully since PP has extended the benefit to Diners Club user. My PP is valid till 12/23 even though my DCB is now closed

Experience: When I signed up sometime in 10/22, it showed validity till 12/22. It was extended as benefit by PP for another year for the period 1/23 to 12/23. I was not charged

Terms: As seen in the image uploaded by @Tosh you have 14 days to cancel the service if you are charged.

I guess they are generalised terms and conditions and not to be charged for the cards providing unlimited access because as I logged in I only paid 83 rupees authentication fees and after 31/12/2023 it shall auto renew.
