I just had an absolute horror show with my ICICI bank application process.
I have been a long time user of many credit cards including Amazon pay ICICI carda nd I recently applied for a core ICICI bank card which was rejected readily.
Later in the day, I got a call from the ICICI bank team who told that she will help me in getting the card. But during the application process, the person asked me for an alternative number for the application, to which I said I didnt own one. So she asked me to share the number of any co worker of mine and assured me that it would not be linked to the card or used in any way beyond the application process.
Now after I recieve my card, to my utter shock, the card is linked to that mobile number, including all the transaction OTPs. This is just such an illegal practice from the ICICI bank team to straight up lie to customers about the data that is required for credit card application.
